I’m glad I let my renewal lapse so I could rejoin for the price I was happy to pay for 7 years before. (30 a year)

It actually says it’s for new subscriptions, not new subscribers.
What happened to the Paypal option to pay? All I see is ‘Link’ and ‘Card’

Big-time slap in the face to the long-time VIPs that were paying $15 or $30/yr before and still stuck with them and are now paying $60/yr.
To now let others come in on a new subscription and pay $60 for 2 years, and be locked in at $96 for every 2 years ($48/yr) after that? What kind of crap is that.
Couldn’t be more obvious that they have bled so many VIP subscribers over the last 12 months.

Well that’s unfortunate. I’ve been paying $30 for the last few years and now it’s doubling? And no discounts for current subscribers? Lock me in at $30 and it’s a no brainer for me!

Well, I canceled mine (expires Feb 2026) and bought the BF deal. Says I’m set until Nov 28 2027. I miss a few months but stay at the $30 yearly amount.

I saw this as well and it looks quite enticing (i cancelled my sub due to the redesign). My only concern is whether Trakt is still going to be usable a year down the line, as that would determine whether this is worth it.

Bit disappointing this is new subs only. Mine runs out August next year and I think I will let it lapse now if new users are going to get a better price tbh.

I am in the same shoe as some of you. I am honestly feeling sad. I really like Trakt and the service. But I feel like I am being treated unfairly for being a paid customer. I am willing to pay the $30 with no fuss. Yet I am not given the opportunity to. I actually cancelled my membership some months back as I gave up. Now when there is a little glimpse of hope; only New Subscribers get to enjoy it. My current subscription lapses in May. I’ll skip this BF with chances of never returning. When greediness takes over. Nothing good comes out of it.

My subscription expires on December 2nd, but I already canceled it a few months ago. I just saw that I can renew for 2 years at $60. Luckily, I did not renew for 2 years at $96 a few days ago.

Got the email. Deleted it and subscribed from the final trakt thing that could still email me.
Also no PayPal and only creditcard??? Even more reason to not subscribe.

Just double checking, as I got slightly confused by link.
If I signed up to the BF deal i would be free to cancel or continue in two years and not automatically committed to the 96?
Not sure but best to go into VIP-Manage Credit Cards and delete your card after you purchase, then they can’t auto renew.

You can cancel your VIP subscription immediately after renewing it. Then it will just run out on the end date unless you renew again.
This goes for the website at least. Don’t know how it works when you subscribe via App/Play Store.

I’d cancelled my VIP (runs until Dec 23rd) and it let me renew with the Black Friday discount, so back to the “proper” price until at least the tail end of 2027.
I dunno why people are so up tight about PayPal being removed. Arguably credit card payments are safer anyway. I’ve got one which doesn’t charge for overseas transactions (I’m UK-based) and will let me create one-time throwaway virtual cards as well so I don’t need to worry about leaving the details on a website.

Because -at least in the Netherlands- a lot of people only use debit cards which can’t be used for these type of payments, so they rely on pay methods like PayPal.
