Seems that Trakt no longer tweets automatically since 12 July. I see the scrobbled films and episode entries in trakt. I didn’t change anything so I’m a little bit curious what to do.

And therein probably lies your answer. The official Mastodon does have recent toots (yes, really), and Mastodon doesn’t try to prevent you from reading it without an an account so you can at least manually check there from time to time.

Personally, Musk made Twitter usable again 
I’ve update Twitter to use the v2 Twitter API. This restore the auto tweeting. However, we’re still going to run into the low rate limits that Twitter now enforces.
The Trakt app gets 50 tweets per day for free. We can pay $100/month to get 1667 tweets per day. Then it jumps to $5000/month for 10,000 tweets per day. (We aren’t going to pay $5000/month!)
For now the plan is to pay the $100 and auto tweeting will become a VIP only feature. I’m still not sure this is enough tweets for all VIPs who want to auto share. The next step would be further limiting it to only watching based actions.
Not sure what else we can really do here, but open to ideas if anyone has some.
