Can you implement a notification when a movie or episode that we have in history is removed from Trakt?
Yes!
It shouldn’t usually be the case, but whenever an item I have watchlisted is removed from Trakt / TMDB for whatever reason, I’d like to get a notification. This way I could decide how to proceed with the title (maybe re-add it on TMDB with corrected information or just ditch it).
@justin, would this be a feature to consider for the near future?
It’s something we can look into. In general, we try and merge data rather than remove it.
To that, we should all be notified when things are merged as well.
That would send too many notifications and not really be useful in my opinion. A lot of merges are for duplicated shows that existed on TMDB multiple times.
I would only see the notification useful if the item that’s been edited (deleted, merged) is in the user’s history. That’s when I would really want to know if there’s something going on.
Yea for sure, but it would still be a lot of notifications if a lot of people opted in to get them. We need to weigh the resources for the benefit.
Maybe make it a VIP feature?
Not sure if that would still eat up too many resources.
Although merge would be nice, I would be satisfied with the notification for removed items. I always have the fear that they will be removed without me noticing.
Yeah, notification for deleted (and maybe only to VIP members) seems enough for me as well.
