So a lot of the support.trakt.tv posts seem to be focused on Data Refresh or Removal. While VIP users get a neat little Refresh Data / Refresh Images set of buttons on entry pages on the website, there’s no way to flag the entry as a potential dupe (which seems to cover the vast majority of removal requests).
It’d be awesome if we could help you help us by allowing some form of removal request in-line on-site, rather than having to post over on the support site.
For instance a “This is a duplicate” button, that asks for a trakt.tv link to the “original” might be a good first step, which on your end you could either continue to triage manually, as I assume you have to deal with the support requests, or automate based on user-level, or number of flagged votes, or other heuristic.
As for non-dupes and other metadata issues, probably a tougher topic, so I’ll stay focused with this ask
With the updates we pushed today, the TVDB data scraper got an update and it can now auto delete episodes to match TVDB. There are certain criteria to make sure we don’t lose play data, but this should help a lot when people add and remove episodes to TVDB repeatedly.
We might need to manually clean up shows that have invalid data with a lot of plays however. The topic does make sense and something we’ll look into.
I know this is an old thread, but as this is the only request for this feature… this was just added for anyone that did not know! It is next to the refresh data button.
