Problems with n, u & h rendering and the new font

I am very confused by this bug (if it even is one) but some letters have weird glitches in them since the update.

I could not reproduce this on Android in Firefox, but it did happen on Firefox Desktop as well as Chromium Desktop. The weird part is that the glitches are not consistent - on my monitor they appear like in the screenshot, and on the actual laptop screen the artifact is in the h of Charon.

Also tried it in a private tab to check if the “old” red theme affects this, and it does not.

System Info Ubuntu 24.04 LTS / Linux Mint 21.3

Firefox 131.0.3 / Chromium Version 130.0.6723.58 / LibreWolf 130.0-1

Resolution 2880:1920 (laptop), 1920:1080 (monitor) and 1536x1024 (other laptop)

May be a temp/random glitch, or caused by browser extensions, or something system specific. Tried to reproduce with the same examples you used on Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on Windows 10, but this ain’t happening to me.

Interesting, thanks for checking - I’ll be testing some stuff, maybe it’s Linux.

I haven’t been able to reproduce this either and as a web developer, I have testing options in just about every environment you can think of.

I think it’s a Linux issue, I tested it on some laptops and they all show this behaviour. Couldn’t test on Windows at the moment.
