I would love to be able to interact with friends when I see what they have watched, whether to comment directly to them or at least have some kind of a reaction emoji or at the very least to “like” it. It’s great to see WHAT friends are watching, but sometimes you want to be able to ask a question or respond in some way. Don’t know if that’s possible but figured it was worth asking.
This almost sounds like DM feature that you are asking for but yes a ‘send reaction’ feature could be cool, just unsure how that could be added without it turning into some sort of Direct Message Feature
I think where I’m stuck is why HAVE friends on this platform if you can’t actually interact with them in any way at all. It’s great I can see what someone is watching but… then what? I can’t even indicate that I loved that episode they just watched or leave any kind of comment, whether it’s an inquiry about the show or asking them what they thought. I love the tracking part of the site for my personal use but having a friends list on here is basically pointless from what I can tell. The people I am actually friends with, we’re having conversations about what we watch elsewhere anyway, especially if I share what I am watching on other social media, at which point having friends on this site seems kinda useless to me. Probably not expressing this thought very efficiently.

Yeah the only way (as of the moment) you can just use Trakt to talk about your experiences to friends or anyone else is through the VIP Forums (and VIP Personal Messages on the Forums). I do wonder if the DMs could be added to both the main site / app as well as your reactions you previously mentioned be send through DMs similar to how people react to stories on platforms like Instagram.
This is a weird thing to integrate without it being direct messages. This is also something i guess would be handled by whichever app you was actually using.
My method of integration would be when you are viewing the details of any particular film or tv series usually there are is a comments section.
This comments section would be categorised into two sections. One that shows comments from the global population and the other that shows comments left by friends.
Any comment that is left by a friend would be made so that you can’t reply to it and the amount of comments able to posted to this category would be limited to one comment per friend which will discourage extended usage of this feature keeping it for comments only.
