Show what people you follow (not only friends) have rated and commented on shows and movies

Hi!

Currently Trakt shows what my friends have watched, collected, rated and commented.
However, when I look at the comments of a person I follow, but who does not follow me back (we are not friends), I do not see what they have rated now can I filter out their comments.

I thought that was the goal of following people. And I really, really like to be able to do so.

Screenshot shows a movie that I know a person I follow (not friended) has commented on (I checked their comments from their profile), but i do not see his rating/activity (I’m just assuming he’s rated it too and watched it) or his comment.

Should I post this over on the support forums/ideas now? Or does this actually work.

I wonder what if this was the intention from the devs? And if it really is, what is the meaning of “following” someone, if you can’t see their activity on certain entries

Any insights on this, Justin?

Any update to this? I follow people when I like one of their reviews, so seeing more of them would be great.

I would love to hear more on this still too - and what the original intention of following people is.

There’s no page with latest reviews by people you follow or what they watched. Only the 12 or so activity on the front page.

I think more “social” pages would be an improvement! Maybe like the discover section with the comments and reviews, but just the people you follow. And the ability to see more than the latest ones.

But that’s a different idea.

So a while later, I would also like commenting on activity and profiles. Like on Steam!

But I think that might also lead to needing more moderation power :see_no_evil:

Yes. Trakt could really use more ,community features", to find new people who has similar taste, creating a community reaction on a premiere of new show or episodes, and it would be freaking nice to have a option to message to someone. Not just trying to guess their Twitter or Facebook.

I think this is an interesting topic

So far community features really are limited to the comment section.
There are no notifications in App/on site for a follow, reply on one of my comments or lists and so on.
There’s no possibility to get in touch with anyone outside the comment sections
In app you can’t search for users
I get that more community features will only work in a positive way with increased moderation though

The comments section has a “Following” tab. I don’t have that in the other sections yet though. I do agree we need to enhance the social and make it easier to discover new people to follow and see their data. We have some ideas around this and I hope to start releasing those updates next year as part of some larger updates we have planned.
