Is there a way to stop calendar updates from appearing for shows marked hidden without removing the watch history or list detail?
Yes, on the website click the ø icon to hide the show from your calendar. In the official Trakt mobile apps, long press an episode in the calendar and you can hide it.

That works for See All Up Next but not for Calandar.
Calendar you do what you said and you can hide show, but it’s only hiding THAT episode.
