I can’t imagine why this was deleted. It’s on TVDB. It’s completed. It has been on the site for years. So why? Because it’s an abridged series? Trakt is chock full of them.

Data isn’t fed from TVDB anymore, it’s fed from TMDB.
By the looks of it it’s not on TMDB, so that’ll be why. TVDB changed their licensing rules so trakt migrated over to TMDB last year.
It was explicitly stated multiple times that series only from TVDB would not be deleted.
Why? Who says they shouldn’t belong on Trakt? You? Apparently so because a report from you is all that’s required for a series that’s been on the platform for years to be deleted.
I’d like to know why major moderator action was taken solely on this one user’s opinion on what should not belong.
Dragon Ball Z Abridged has 200k plays. A lot of people are perfectly fine with them being on Trakt.
Being on TVDB isn’t reason enough for it to exist on Trakt. For example, podcasts on TVDB should not exist on Trakt since they are podcasts and not TV shows. TVDB also seems to allow anything from Youtube, regardless of the quality or relevance.
We take different info into consideration when moderating content such as the popularity of the item . We try to keep/merge whenever possible, but sometimes a simple removal is warranted. There is a bunch of content on Trakt that should ultimately be removed, that’s why we have moderation process and dedicated moderator.
Moderation is sometimes a judgement call, so it’s never going to be perfect. Just like content existing or not existing on TVDB or TMDB is never going to be perfect either. We do the best we can to clean up Trakt and make it relevant.

I have never seen you say this. Posts like this have been made and others and you have never gave any qualifiers. And someone just last week explicitly asked for your official stance and you did not say this.
With the TMDB move I and others have been asking you for almost 2 years a solution to shows only on TVDB and the only response you gave is that if it’s on TVDB, it’ll stay on Trakt. And now that we are months away from the cutoff date (for real this time, maybe) your solution is “well some things don’t belong on Trakt so we’re just going to delete them?”
Where is this even coming from? Where is the Trakt equivalent to TMDB’s Bible? The only thing I ever knew wasn’t allowed on Trakt was porn.
This is completely in contrast to what you said in the aforementioned thread just a week ago where you said they should be completely separate from tv and movies. Not that they shouldn’t exist on Trakt at all. You also reiterated that web series not allowed on TMDB would be kept on Trakt.
You also said you weren’t sure on what to do with existing podcasts but I guess you arrived at the answer.
Extremely disappointing, because them being podcasts and not TV shows shouldn’t be reason for them to not exist on Trakt. The utility Trakt provides applies to them perfectly.
We take different info into consideration when moderating content such as the popularity of the item
First of all, the series in question here is extremely popular, with each video having at least 2.4 million views.
That being said, it shouldn’t be a popularity contest. People shouldn’t be punished for committing the sin of watching something not popular. That’s not right. Everything should be treated equally.
Delete Dragon Ball Z Abridged with its 200k plays. Hellsing Ultimate Abridged with 27k. Sword Art Online Abridged with 17k.
Delete Joe Rogan Experience at 85k plays. Rooster Teeth Podcast with 42k. H3 Podcast with 14.5k
Apply the apparent rules consistently and equally to everything. Because how do you decide when something becomes relevant enough to subvert the apparent rules? What’s the threshold? Why must that be the threshold?
What popularity should tell you is that your users are ok with that type of content. Tens and hundreds of thousands of plays on this content. People are okay with and want this content here.
Like why be so restrictive on the content for this site? No other site is like Trakt. It’s the most robust tracking site and should strive to be open, not to restrict.
There is a bunch of content on Trakt that should ultimately be removed, that’s why we have moderation process and dedicated moderator.
I have been submitting support tickets about YouTube series and I think even podcasts and they have been fulfilled no problem. I have never been told that the series I submitted should be deleted.
Moderation is sometimes a judgement call, so it’s never going to be perfect.
I implore you to at least be better than the TVDB and TMDB mods, which you wouldn’t be doing by being inconsistent with the rules.
Just because some stuff is on Trakt, doesn’t mean other dan parodies/amateur content should imo. It just means they weren’t reported yet.
Web series should be fine on Trakt I think. They are fine on tmdb too. Just not YouTube content by everyone and their mother. for example RWBY or Anne+ and countless other web series.

As I said first I’m hearing this. Again I’ve submitted plenty of reports for web content, meaning I brought them to moderators’ and likely even admin attention, and they did not get deleted.
And apply the rules consistently.

Why not? Seriously. It’s still content that can benefit from Trakt’s utility. And I’m not alone in this. Lots of content I update daily have plays by other users. I wouldn’t mind them being separated in their own section just like podcasts. Not that it matters much due to the TVDB cutoff. So at the end of this year it’ll just be sitting there.
You’re not forced to track them. Let people who want to do so.
