I know that the way plays are counted was changed some time ago and that they are re-calculating. But is it possible that some of the shows are still re-caculating. Because some shows have an episode with over 1 million plays but only 27k watchers or the other way around. One episode has 10k watchers but only 200 plays. And some episodes have less than 1k plays although they are already out for a week.

The numbers have become even more skewed since the date you posted them. For example Daredevil: Born Again S01E03 now shows 2.3M or an additional 700K plays.
The same is for Severance. The Last Episode of Season 2 has still only 1,4k plays while the ones before have over 500k.
Definitely a bug in our play calc. Seems we introduced it when we added some detailed tracking for episodes and seasons. Thank you for the heads up!
It seems that many other shows have a bug in the play calc.
Here a few examples. There are many more that i noticed.

right I see a lot discrepancies in number of watchers and number of plays.
Normally for multiple season shows this can happen, as people can rewatch stuff before each new season.
in the above link you can see that ep1 has 2.7k watchers but 30k plays thats means every single watcher at least played the episode 10 times.
ep2 has 1.7k watcher and 65k plays.
Tracker S2 ep 12 has 15k watchers but 748k plays.
Looks like every new show is facing this issue. Since multiple shows logged in same time won’t in trakt, what could be going wrong? Is there ever gonna be a solution for this?

I found the bug last week and should have something deployed either today or tomorrow. I’ll update this thread when I start the stat rebuild process.

Hi, regarding the statistics, I wanted to add that one of the most famous series, The Big Bang Theory, still doesn’t have any watchers or plays. Regards.
Additionally, trakt says in my all time stats that Captain America Brave new world is the most watched movie overall. I find this hard to believe. Is this the same error?

Does anyone knows where is the information about changes to plays recalculating?
Ok, tentatively, we have a fix up as of right now.
Over the next few days, you may catch stats say 0 watchers, 0 plays. If you do, that just means it’s in the middle of doing a full stat recalculation for that media item.
I’ll be doing some spot checks over the next week, but expect to see numbers come back to reality in about a week (takes a bit to recalculate).
Thank you all for your patience. This stuff is a bear to get correct but also performant enough in both calculation time and storage size.
