I would like a feature to temporarily hide a show from appearing in my Up Next feed for a certain amount of time, specifically “until season is complete”, because i often wait with watching a show until i can binge all episodes. But other periods of time would probably be useful too for some. For example Until show has ended completely, or simply just “for 4 weeks” etc.
YES, I was just wishing for this the other day. I never watch them one at a time as it’s with commercials anyway. Being able to watch them all at my leisure is my style so I wait until they’re all released on something like Netflix or Hulu etc.
This is a good idea, but the challenge is know when the season is completed. We don’t have enough data to know what the last episode of a season is.
Thanks, that makes sense that it is not clear when it ends for every show out there. Perhaps a snooze button with a manual user defined time period would be the way to go in that case.
Or being able to move them off to a separate list that we’d be able to access manually and move shows back to the main Up Next list. My vote is whatever is simplest to implement.
Currently, for me, the up next list loses a lot of its value when it’s full of shows I’m not watching next. Or dont want to watch anymore etc. Not the biggest deal or anything, but ya, something simpler can increase its value a lot I think.
Sometimes I want to hide a show only for 2 or 3 weeks. Meanwhile the official release date and the real arrival to platforms is done. Could be nice y we can hide a series from progress/watched for ‘n’ weeks o r ‘m’ months. Maybe the best option is the user define the time of the delay.
This way could be easy to implement because we don’t need to sync this date with other dates o services. We only need no hide the show one month and, after that month, check if is available or click on hide one aditional month.
Thanks
There is already an option to hide a show from Up Next permanently. I’m not sure if it’s available on mobile, but on the website the button “Hide this show” is next to the show name on your Dashboard.
For shows you are not planning to continue watching at all this is a good solution.
Not sure if this is still topic of interest to others/admins… but I do see the benefit to allow hiding the show for ‘w’ ammount of weeks or ‘m’ ammount of months no matter the official airing dates - just your own specified “time”. If you know for example the show has 10 episodes to air, you can do the math in your head and hide the show for 10 weeks so it will automatically pop up in your Dashboard when all episodes had aired without you tracking it manually.
I like for example taking a break between seasons of already completed shows (to let the story/cliffhangers properly “sink” - as intended during the original air) and that way, it would be possible to hide the show for let’s say 1 month after watching ie. season 1, and season 2 would then automatically appear in your Dashboard in that 1 month period - again, without user manually tracking it.
Third useful scenario might be, when the show is airing in country X in January, and in your country Y in March (but Trakt adopts original January date). You hide it for 2 months and it won’t take space on your Dashboard but will pop up later when it’s valid for you/your country - no manual tracking needed.
