Trakt Community Thread

Working through one of my all time favorite shows, Friday Night Lights, yet again.

who are you even replying to? and especially on a thread that is two and a half years old.

Does your inquiry improve the conversation? No.

Literally was mention earlier in this thread. And also why this “forum” is failing. This thread is a “CT Thread”. As I stated EARLIER.

“The whole point of a CT is to pretty much allow for multi posts, checking in, status updates, quick opinions on matters, etc. All because these really don’t fully warrant an individual thread. The boards that I’ve been a part of that have one they kind of are there own little corner for the forum. It’s not for everyone and that’s ok. Just wanted to bring something a bit different to this community.”

This forum has been next to nothing activity wise, and because of that I even forget to post here. So I was trying to institute something that would allow for any and all posts without judgement.

So that is the point of the thread that is now 5 years old. Logic like yours has made this forum literally “crawl”. It is already a VIP Exclusive. As I stated earlier, was trying to bring something different considering I have contributed and ran multiple communities over the years. Forums are already on life support.

BTW I legit forgot this forum even existed.

the original comment i was replying to was deleted, the user was banned for dissension.

I love the idea of a community thread, I read most of the posts in here when I’d found it. I love the vibe of just hanging out/chillin with people on the forums who are chill. I just wish it was more visible yeah. At least now the forums aren’t VIP only so that should help some

Misunderstanding on my part, my apologies. Glad you like the thread. I feel as though forums are becoming a lost social platform sadly. I love using forums, grew up with them, ran several communities, etc.

yeah i feel you there. i do like forums as a place to get help, especially forums that are part of the site in some way like this one, compared to reddit which is just a mass forum for almost anything and everything. the idea of reddit was lost on me for a very long time until it finally clicked a few years back. threads like this remind me a bit of the old twitter, mostly just people hanging out

i might as well delete that now seemingly random comment by me haha. meh or not

Completely agree. I do use Discord some now, and run a server, but it in itself is different as well.

yeah i’ve got my own private server in discord for my friends and i as well. i also help my friends server with permissions and such. i love discord and sometimes wish more companies would utilize it but i can see why not. it can be very spammy and moderation of large servers i can see being a nightmare

Forums used to be the go to for help and advice. I honestly much prefer them over Discord. I feel they’re much better in forms of structure, easier to navigate and a more permanent record of advice that might be of help to others in the future facing similar issues. Plus for the most part, for better or worse, they’re crawled by search engines so the info is even easier found than anywhere else.

I still use forum based groups a lot, especially for automotive interests. While I appreciate these days many use YouTube etc for that, there’s just something better structured imho with forums. And for online chatting personally I still prefer irc over Discord. Too many privacy concerns tbh with Discord.

What a day. Got the lawn mowed, worked more through Mafia Franchise, almost done with Mafia II, finished Mafia Old Country and Mafia 1 DC so far. Now continuing my work through the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Been working through my SteelBook collection of The Dark Knight Trilogy that I got in earlier this week. IT IS SOOOOO GOOD.

today was a busy day for me as well. I worked for a few hours this morning as a volunteer photographer with the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Had lunch with the friends I was volunteering with, then went to pick up the new iPhone, then went to another friends house to play Magic: The Gathering for a few hours. I’m sunburned, slightly dehydrated, and exhausted but it was all worth it lol.

I finished Mafia 2 and Joe’s Adventure, I’m trying to finish Jimmy’s Vendetta and The Betrayal of Jimmy packages, but the two packages are similar to each other and have repetitive and boring missions.

Are the DLC’s even worth checking out? I am getting close to the end of the campaign.

I recommend Joe’s Adventure, the others are boring.

I watched Green Book the other day. It was good, you can see the major story plots coming a mile away but that’s not always a bad thing.
