Trakt Feedback - Episodes in lists

I don’t think there’s an option to add episodes to lists on the new update. I’ve tapped everything I can but can’t find anything for adding to lists

Like how main shows or movies gives the option “manage list”. That option doesn’t show up for individual episodes

Hi, thanks for reaching out!
You are correct, we removed the option to add episodes and seasons to lists in the new update.
May I ask how did you use that feature so I can pass that feedback to the developers?

Very simple. I watched 8 seasons of a show. In a few months, the 9th season should come. So comes this season 9, and only this one, in my watchlist. Or I have a single season of an anthology series to watch in the future, then exactly this one will be on the watchlist. This is an absolutely important basic function for me and many others. I don’t understand at all how I get the idea that the users don’t need this.

If you watched 8 seasons of a show, once the new season releases, it will show up in your “Continue Watching” section automatically. That season doesn’t need to be in a list for that to happen.

If you want to watch an anthology series, you can add the show to your watchlist and, once the season releases, you can start watching it from that season. The “Continue Watching” section will understand that you skipped the other seasons and once you finish that season, it won’t show the other seasons for you to watch, unless you decide to watch them.

Your watchlist should be used for shows and movies you plan to watch and still haven’t started, not for shows you are already watching.

That’s why I ask how users use that feature. As far as what you told me, it seems you don’t need the seasons in your lists to do what you want.

I want to see at a glance when in the future which season will be new. Not at the moment it’s available.

I don’t put episodes in lists but do put seasons in them. Specifically I have a Best of list for each year and add the season of a show that aired in a given year that I think was one of the best. For 1 season shows I could add the series to that list. However, for series with multiple seasons I like to add the season so I can easily tell which season number it was.

I use it with flexget, so that I can automatically configure a series “begin” season and episode. It might be that I don’t want to always start at S01E01.

To jump on to this thread, this feature was really useful to keep track of viewing orders for TV shows that exist in the same universe but run parallel to each other with some crossovers. Just off the top of my head some examples are Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice/Station 19, Chicago Fire/PD/Med, FBI/Most Wanted/International, Arrow/The Flash/Supergirl/Legends of Tomorrow etc. All of these shows are interconnected and either have full episode crossovers, character crossovers or even just references to events that are happening in other shows that means having a list of the episodes or seasons in the watch order makes it so much easier to keep track of which episode you should be watching next to keep the continuity of that group of TV shows intact.

… But why? Why do you guys keep stripping the website of what made it good? I don’t see the benefit at all…

@Sonply Could we get a response please? Or do I need to open a new topic to discuss this?

You will need to open quite a few more. It took 2 years of complaining (and the devs arguing/belittling me every time then deleting it) before the blocking and then reporting issues were fixed

(How it use to be when you blocked someone it turned them into a billboard at the top of comments with a red sign saying blocked lol. Then they fixed it and took away reporting so you had people saying the most racist inhumane things for a year)

@Sonply Why is there a thread with my personal information?

I sent that as an email to customer support “support@trakt.tv” from my personal email. I wouldn’t have done it if you included that your emails + personal info creates a public forum post

I did not consent to this, please remove it immediately

there is no public thread visible. if you sent an email to them thats how they appear in the forum for you. its the same if you send them a message

I removed the information at the bottom of the first post.

I also use this feature for the same reason. It helps me to keep track of filler vs canon episodes (ie. One Piece). Really disappointed that they removed the feature..

I started using Trakt specifically to make lists with individual episodes in them to keep track of things that are in the same “series” but have concurrently running shows.

I also wish I could add the same episode to the list more than once, because I have a list of the chronology of a Star Trek talkback podcast and they’re starting over from the beginning again but I can only have the episodes on the list once
