In the old UI I’m sure I could add future seasons to watchlist
I’m sure I used to be able to add future seasons to watchlist. I did it for Wonder Man that hadn’t even started. Now I’m trying to add Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. I can see it listed, but I can’t add it to my watchlist in the new UI.
For shows you haven’t watched, just add the series to your watchlist not the seasons.
For returning shows (assuming you’ve watched previous seasons) you don’t need to add the new season to the watchlist. The new episodes will automatically show up in Continue Watching once they air.
it’s intended that you add a show and not just an episode or season to the watchlist. once you’re caught up on any show you would see new episodes appear in your continue watching list so adding a future season would be pointless.
i know some shows are seasonal like american horror story, but they might bring something back for season pages
Well I guess I’ll find out in March whether it works in practice, although I’m not sure I understand the rationale. For example, if I only wanted to watch season 10 of Buffy, I’d have to add the whole show then laboriously mark seasons 1-9 as watched? TrakTV has no idea that I watched those on the BBC 20+ years ago.
Update: OK, so I see that if I mark season 7 ep 1 as watched just now, it adds the next episode to watch next (though not apparently if I add it as watched at release date).
you also wouldnt have to add all the previous seasons unless you want the tracking information. You could just start at season 10 and it will know that you only want to continue from there. you also have the option to start watching on say season 10 ep 1 and it gives the option to mark all previous episodes as watched up to that one so theres a few options on how you wanna do it
