Trakt gets a makeover!

love purple over red, but I have to say it took me off guard, lol; and I still struggle to find the correct bookmark as I get used to it.

I get the :heavy_check_mark: for Trakting, but I have to wait and see how I feel about it over the T, I liked the T, but great work, can’t wait to see what’s next!

Yes, PLEASE don’t change the logo on the iOS app! It would look like a ToDo app instead of Trakt. And of course color is everything when you’re tapping icons on your smartphone; we need the Red. (You may want to look at how Drafts (getdrafts.com) handles their iOS icons. They let people pick from many colors in Settings, as some like to change them for Fall or Christmas!)

Somehow the new logo doesn’t look like a T. I get the ‘checking off’ (‘ticking’ for British members) concept but it no longer resembles a T.

My favorite color, love it!!!

Just looking at the logo so far. I love it. These comments made me flash back to like 10 years ago when you made the trakt 2.0 layout. And everyone missed the yellow and blue!

People will just news some time getting used to the new look and feel

I slept on it and this morning opened it on 4k screen.

This doesn’t work at all. 2 minutes in and I feel that my eyes need to work harder. Contrast is just not there. It dark mode it’s event worse.
Red is Trakt identity. Please bring it back.

wow a lot of hate about he new look :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I love it, the purple is awesome and looks absolutely fantastic in dark mode. The logo stands out, and the new animations on click are awesome. Fantastic graphic design. Do not change it, ot if a lot of people complaiing make options to change colors.

Love it!!! Great work !!!

really sad about the rebranding.

the purple is hard to read

and the logo looks very generic

curious what sparked the sudden change of design…

I like the new color, I personally find it more “relaxing” than your classic red.

But not the new logo; It’s the identity of the service, you are called Trakt, where is the T for Trakt?

The old logo perfectly identified the service without needing the name, you would see it (e.g. in Infuse or in the many apps that use your data) and immediately recognize it, the new logo without the name didn’t represent the service, it’s just a checkmark like so many other apps/services have.

It looks like the rebrand of Twitter, where it went from an iconic little bird that everyone recognized, to a letter that by itself is just a letter that doesn’t identify anything and so many others use

I understand that people don’t like the new color. I love it and the font I get used too it. I do think indeed that the Old Trakt logo was better. Maybe purplefy that one? But it now indeed look like a To Do app. I hope we ever get a theme system for Trakt, multiple themes and the user can choose it, maybe even an accent color? So that it is CSS only?

I like the old. The new logo feels off for some reason.

I also feel it’s like the good task app logo or any other task logo. The previous Trakt logo stood out and I recognized it. Now I’m just confused. And I 100% will not update my iPhone app to avoid having this new logo at all costs.

Just my two cents

Like others said the new icon makes Trakt feel like a to-do App to me, so about chores instead of fun. I think that’s the wrong message…

Which font are you using in the logo?

logo

Does the (lower case) “k” of that font really look like a(n uppercase) “K”? Or did you use a Small Caps “K” there? (I think it looks ugly; a regular lower case “k”, as in the title of this topic, looks much better to me).

What worries me most though is this:

This new logo is just the beginning, folks. We’ve got some super exciting stuff coming down the pipeline that we can’t wait to show you. Stay tuned!

First the price increase, then the rebranding, so what’s next? An IPO or acquisition?

Text and icons are being cut off on the Dashboard Page.

I have a baaaad feeling about this. :broken_heart:

Now it looks like a todo list for instagram nonsense and the whole site looks like a custom css gone wrong.

The new color is cool, but this font makes my eyes hurt. Please pick some better one :face_with_spiral_eyes:

I don’t think I like any of these changes, lol. The logo feels like a to-do app logo, font is fine I guess but hate the font color.

Love the purple, but the font choice… not so much

Respectfully, you need to hire a different designer.

  • That shade of purple is hard to read in the dark mode and it doesn’t look good in the light mode either.
  • Changing the logo to a «default todo app icon with a background gradient» is a creative flop.
  • The new font looks cheap and clumsy.

You had good branding for so long. Not many social websites can pull off red as their primary color, but you did. And now you just tossed it aside.

Changing things around is good, but you should be careful when changing something that worked well enough for so long.
