Scrolling through the contents of my iPhone’s backup to iCloud, I see that Trakt is using 398MB. On the local device, the app+data size is only 250MB.
What is Trakt storing in its backup to iCloud, and is that needed? I would expect only account info and app settings (~10MB) need to be backed up as all of my Trakt history is by definition on Trakt servers. Is some app/image cache mistakenly being saved to the backup? I could just turn the app backup off but it seems like there may be bug to be fixed.
I’m in the process of investigating this. It’s to do with the synced user data, data used to process up next, as well as some other cache logic that is bundled together when most if not all of it doesn’t necessarily need to be backed up as you point out. It’d be more noticeable the longer you’ve used the app. Until changes are implemented the only way to clear the bulk data for now is to delete and reinstall the app.
