V3 gets rids of two features I use TRAKTV for. Easy filtering and if I don’t like a show I only do 2 clicks to add to a list.

V3 removes good filtering and I have to click multiple times and move my mouse around to add a show to a list.

Hey Trakt team,

Y’all are in for a wake-up call when you take away V2 from the VIPs and find out they don’t want to pay for VIP anymore with V3.

Took another look at your “Lite” site again today, and whaddya know, it’s hardly improved. You guys got a lot of work to do in 3 weeks.

Maybe some other VIPs user here think differently (but reading other comments, I doubt it), but you guys aren’t even close with V3 yet to make me think it’s worth paying any amount of money for. I don’t even know if you’re 10% of the way there.

Just comparing to the simple dashboard in V2 to what you have going on in Lite/V3. Where are your all-time watched numbers? Where is the past 30 days stats? Why isn’t my watchlist shown in the same custom order as I have it set as in V2?

Sadly my VIP renewed recently and I now find out that V2 will disappear at the end of June so I will be paying for an inferior product that does very little of the product that I signed up and am paying for.

This in any business is an obvious disaster and will no doubt result in the number of VIP members reducing considerably. Sadly they already have my money for the next 10 months so I have little option to remaining a member and try to use the inferior product but my renewal is already cancelled and will not be reinstated unless a vast amount of work is done to bring Trakt back to being a useable product.

From all the reaction from the powers that be I have very little faith that V3 will be bought up to anything near the level that V2 is today.

The moment old version is gone I am gone.
Even easy stuff like checking how many episodes each season has is not easy in new version.

I need to check them one by one instead of seeing it directly.

Also fyi I started using Trakt at the time new version was out and I chose to use the old one as the new one didnt give me the information I needed. Like yeah it looks nicer and more modern but I need this site to be functional and not artistic.

Just look at the top of it and see what information you can get…

New one has no status, no network, no runtime, no total runtime, no Genres…
You do get some sentiment which seems like Ai summary of pros and cons.

In any case I will slowly start to look for escape alternatives.

Here is something that is still missing from V3 that V2 has. (Blue Arrows to help locate what I am talking about.)

Issues with V3’s Series Page

• Unable to view ALL episodes as opposed to only from 1 season
• Unable to filter out the Watched Episodes to see only the Unwatched Episodes from the selected Season… Or just fade which ever episodes that from the options listed.
• Unable to see the Earliest/Latest Year that from the selected Season
  • Just because the Show premiered in a year does not mean that there is not a special the aired even earlier.
  • I also like to easily view the years from Season and/or from the All Season together as observed above.
• Unable to see the date when the episode aired without opening the episode
  • I don’t always know the name of an episode, but I may know the date that it aired… so this is important
• Unable to see the Total Count of the Episodes on the screen
  • The count changes depending on the filter
  • Although a Total count is provided by V3… it does not include the number of specials
  • • I currently have to do math in order to figure this number out when it used to be a quick glace
• When the show airs are no longer easily found.
  • I have to figure it out by going to the actual episodes.
• There is no bar to easily see how much of the show is watched
• There is not a fraction to see who many episodes have been watch versus the total number of episodes.
• The episode summary is not easily seen or able to easily be searched to try to help match with an episode just watched.
• And I almost forgot, so there’s not an arrow, but V2 makes it simple to mark episodes as watched… one click as opposed to V3’s multiple clicks

Issues with viewing V3’s History

• Unable to view history by Show as opposed to Episodes/Movie/All
  • This is my favorite way to view my watch history in order to easily see how many shows I have watched recently.
  • I watch too many episodes at once, so simplifying this is a must
• The total shows/episodes/movies watched count is not included.
• Unable to remove the Dates separations does not seem to be an option.
• Unable to filter by a particular streaming service.
• Unable to fade/filter out certain episodes/shows/movies
• I do not see a way to easily export my watch history
• Unable to change the history depending on preference at the time.

This is not everything I like better about V2, but it’s a lot that V3 still seems to be lacking.

Ok. What your looking for does seem to be available on V3… you just have to press the little information icon under the title. More information is also available if you press the 3 dots.

It’s just that all the information I am looking for doesn’t seem to be available.

And the episode count on V2’s All Seasons Page is just more accurate.

I’m not happy with V3, but hopefully this will help you find what you are looking for.

It’s honestly ironic how companies keep doing this. It’s Google all over again…enabling AI overwiew with no way to circumvent it and then patting themselves on the shoulder saying all users are using it.

It truly is amazing how they can gaslight themselves into how amazing they think it is.

V3 is just dreadful.
I’m not just complaining about the new pages for the sake of it.
There is tons of infos on V2 that are not here on V3. The glass UI is a nightmare for accessbility (a11y), and has aweful controls on web.

I think this is the last year I will subscribe to the service if there is no waking call on your end.
Or I might use a V2 Clone relying on your API.

Again, the service from Trakt is amazing, it’s just the front UI of the V3 that suck.

There already are FOSS project available on GitHub. Don’t create a new one that will be dead in two months. Join existing projects and contribute and PR instead.

It’s fully OK in the T&C to send a link for a 3rd Party Software… We are not linking to a competitor, only to a different front-end that rely on an API Key made by Trakt, and therefore use Trakt data.
