Trakt should setup a @trakt.tv account on Bluesky

Like many people I have left X and moved to Bluesky. I’d like to see Trakt set up an account there so I can keep receiving updates. The trakt.tv domain can and probably should be used as the handle. How to set your domain as your handle - Bluesky

They are already on Mastodon for people that left X (longer ago):

But Bluesky might be a nice addition indeed.

They could set up this bridge from Mastodon to Bluesky where you just follow this account and posts are mirrored - and maybe delete that Twitter account at some point. ^^

What’s wrong with X/Twitter?

Bluesky has just hit 21M users and its growth does not seem to be slowing down much. That’s almost double what Mastodon has. (Excluding Threads via ActivityPub). It was adding 1M new users a day but it has now slowed to about 500K a day. For that reason it makes sense to have a presence there.

Bluesky is owned by a single company and backed up by Russia. Do your math :man_shrugging:

Bluesky is owned by Bluesky PBC, a public benefit corporation. Bluesky was started under the direction of Jack Dorsey, as a project within Twitter. His objective was to create a decentralized social media protocol and to one day have Twitter run on that protocol. Its CEO and founder is Jay Graber, who designed the protocol along with the Bluesky team. Before Elon Musk even bought Twitter it was spun off into its own company. Jay Graber and the bluesky term own it. Jack Dorsey was on the board, but left earlier this year to focus on Nostr. He no longer owns any part of Bluesky. The software and protocol are all open source. If you want to learn more, read this: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2402.03239

It is not “backed up by Russia”.

Trust me, they are very serious about the app formerly known as Twitter.

And so it begins… Only $8/mo

Maybe, maybe not; it was “just” a UI mockup:
