Trakt VIP Lists

Are any VIP users having issues with limits on lists? While my automated lists on VIP can have a maximum of 10000 items and I can see the list of both classic and the new trakt online, importing the lists seems to be limited to 1000.

they’re rushing to make API changes…

  • Mid February 2026 – Pagination Required for List Items

What do you mean by importing here? Do you use an integration/app that import your Trakt Lists?

We sent emails to a lot of API developers with the timeline for this change along the message that was sent on January 20. It would be great if you could share with us the name of the integration/app you use to import your Trakt Lists. That way, we can reach out to them to let them directly.

You can also reach out to the developers yourself to let them know about this issue you have a link our announcement.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for getting back. The app in question is Syncler+. The responses provided earlier clarified why this was happening and I assume these changes will need to be made by app developers. I’ve since changed my lists to contain 1000 items seeing that both apps I use import up to 75 lists.

I just want to be able to put the things in my list in alphabetical order. Any chance of that happening?

This is not the sorting option that is the most used or asked.

Can I ask why you’d want to sort a list by title? And if we add the option to rank back, would you be okay to sort by title yourself for specific lists? Or is this something you’d want to be able to do on any list (followed/liked)?

I had nearly all of my lists sorted by title, seems like a logical thing to do. If I can sort a list automatically by runtime, surely I should be able to just automatically put one in alphabetical order

Not sure how sorting by alphabetical is not a popular thing. Every digital library I have offers that by default, Google, Apple, Steam, Epic, Jellyfin, Plex etc, they all sort by alphabetical.

I’m not saying it’s technically impossible or that it’s not logical. I’m asking because, for Lists on Trakt, people seem to use the Title sorting more for archiving purposes or for their (multiple) Libraries. When we look at public Lists that are liked/followed, or that look more like playlists, sorting by Title seem less useful. I’d like to know if we’re missing something, that’s why I’m asking those questions.

For Libraries, yes.

For Lists, rank (which translate to the list’s creator ā€œplay orderā€) is more popular by far (on Trakt).

Would alphabetical/title sorting be needed for Lists if you had a way to text query search it?

While I can’t mention them here, I’ve been using a competitor along side Trakt since the push to V3 and sorting list entries by alphabetical order is something they offer that I regularly use. It would make sense to me to at least offer what the competition has, especially as they’re missing Trakt features but are already working on adding them.

I’m not wanting to search for the titles, I want to browse certain lists in alphabetical order. Maybe it’s my autism but there’s certain lists that I need to view in alphabetical order.

It’s simply how I organise my lists, it’s a lot more practical than doing it any other way. I could do it before the update, so would like to think I’d be able to do it after the app has apparently been improved
