Tvdb changes to a subscribe model

I’m not familiar enough with the Emby scrobbler to know why it isn’t working. Have you worked with them directly on that? Even after we migrate a show to TMDB, the existing data is still there (i.e. TVDB ID) so it should continue matching in the same way. The Emby devs would know more info about the IDs and metadata they use for matching on Trakt.

I agree that we might not be large enough to maintain our own full database, but I do wish we weren’t at the mercy of the errors in others’ databases. It’s quite frustrating when we add info on TVDB, hit Queue for Refresh, and a day later the new info is still not on Trakt.
It just seems intuitive that updating things directly in our own database would show the changes immediately, giving everyone (even non-paying users who can’t queue for refresh) a better experience. And those nonpayers might become supporters.

what do you mean? trakt is one of the biggest website of it style with millions of daily users, and im sure justin could gather like 1000 that could have edit powers. or more… the question is : would it gain with it or not? I say yes. some people already said no when i spoke about this, and i forgot the whys =P

@lifeiscrazy was against it i think. if im mistaken, im sorry.

How long does it take for the TMDB comparison tool take to update? I finally completed a show and it’s been 24hrs but the tool still hasn’t updated. Also, is there a specific section on the Support site where we are supposed to report shows ready for transfer? Data refresh?

Yes, do a refresh.

Your question about how a show is ready for transfer to TMDB, I having it too.

It should auto update after 24 hours, but otherwise clicking the refresh button will update the data and the comparison page too. If it’s a 100% match, you’ll be able to migrate it right there. If not, please open a support ticket and choose one of the data categories. We’re in the process of hiring a support rep which will help greatly with getting through all the support tickets and migrations.

A lot of shows who are listed as “Missing on TMDB” are available on TMDB but they are not connected to TVDB (External IDs).

Is there a solution for this or do we have to enter each ID manually?

I cleaned up some shows on the theTVDB that had some wrong content and added them to TMDB, and now TMDB is the main source. However after syncing, there are extra episodes showing on Trakt that won’t remove, even when I force a sync. What do I have to do here?

Gotta do it manually.

That’s because Trakt only pulls info from TMDb (or TVDb before). It doesn’t delete anything, just updates it. If there’s like a wrongly added season, or episode, you have to report them via https://support.trakt.tv.

This is what I was afraid of

that is a long issue, i think Justin has made some progress with it, like it waits a few days and then they get removed from the system. Did you wait at all ?

I always open a support ticket to delete episodes but i’m pretty sure a more easy solution is on the way

Is it possible to do any last minute TVDB imports?

Why not just import TMDb?

If it’s not supported because it’s some sort of web show vlog… I doubt they’re actually supported at TVDb either :joy:

TVDB has been surprisingly flexible with what they accept. Much more so than TMDB at least.

Is there a timeline for migrating all shows how are “Partial Match”?

Does “100% Match” still work? There are a lot of shows ready to migrate to TMDB, but you can only find them under “Partial match”

I just transferred two shows from TVDB to TMDB which were listed under “100% match”:

Perhaps it was a bug?

I don’t know. Yesterday a transferred hundreds of shows who were ready to migrate but listed unter “partial match”

I agree! I have always wondered why TMDB is like that.

I’m curious what’s going to happen with shows like American Idol and Whose Line is It Anyway, who came back years later on a different network. Before, I had been tracking them both as single shows, with the revivals counting as later seasons of the same show. I’ve noticed TMDB counts them as two different shows, and that’s already affecting the app I use, SeriesGuide, so I’m wondering whether I should move to the other listing and modify my watches to match those, or whether the old way will still be supported somehow.
