VIP user for 8 years. Would have likely continued renewing. Just cancelled. $30 to $60 with no added benefit or features. No thank you.

Just cancelled my membership as well. While I do have some integrations with the service, I cannot justify paying double no measurable gain. I’m all for supporting a service, and would support a reasonable increase. But double? I’ll pass.
I’ve had an account since ~2013, I’ve witnessed Trakt grow from a fledgling company into this. Everything enshittifies eventually but it’s sad to see it happen to Trakt. I’ll be unsubscribing my VIP as well unfortunately.

Been a VIP since 2014, but sadly looking like I’ll probably have to cancel as well. As much as I want to continue supporting Trakt, it’s hard to justify that price increase. Been a great service to have, and I was happy to support through outages and previous price increases as I believed in Trakt.
Yeh I’m out, I was first hooked in mainly by the Year in Review summary/stats which is probably the only VIP feature I use.
To pay double for the privilege is absurd, I’m out. I’d consider a specific package/tier that includes the monthly/annual stats only for $30.
Been a member since 2016, I bought VIP less so for the VIP features and more so to do my bit to support the site. But this seems very badly thought out to just double the price for historic VIPs. Honestly between the 100 items list limit for free users and now this, it absolutely reeks of a quick cash grab and prepping to sell the site.
bare minimum it absolutely should have been a phased increase over the next few years for historic VIPs. Anyway looks like mine will be expiring later this month, I won’t be renewing, I just don’t utilise the VIP features enough to warrant a double price increase

The idea that a person new to Trakt would shell out $60 of their hard-earned dollars for a TV show tracker is f*****g insane… And the idea of someone who was paying $30 wanting to pay double for no reason is even more insane.
Kindly sit and spin. My wallet has taken enough abuse in the past couple of years and your valuation of your service is much too high. $30 was already pushing it, so you’ve lost me as a customer.
12 year user here and I loved Trakt. A double price increase is crazy. You do know every one is having finance issues right? I canceled. Good luck getting no money now.

Agree, I got a chuckle about them writing in the email about staying independent. I don’t buy it. This stinks of an acquisition down the road.

Add another one to the pile. I just recently got back into diligently keeping my progress updated and clean. It’s a shame. I’ve been trying to move more of my stuff to self-hosted anyway, so much guess this is the push I need.
Doubling the price from $30 to $60/year is a joke. I’d understand a small increase, but double the cost with no option to honour existing plans? That’s excessive and feels like a slap in the face to long-time supporters.

I subscribed to Trakt VIP about a year ago mainly to support the platform, even though I barely use most of the VIP features. I believe in supporting services I like and use regularly, and I really appreciate what Trakt has built.
However, jumping to a $60/year subscription feels excessive for my use case. The only VIP feature I actually use is Plex sync — everything else, I simply don’t need.
I’d be happy to continue supporting Trakt with a smaller plan, maybe something like $10–$20/year, that includes only this specific feature. But paying the full price for features I don’t use just doesn’t make sense for me.
I hope Trakt considers offering more flexible or tiered pricing in the future. I’d love to keep supporting the service in a way that aligns with how I use it.
I’m extremely disappointed in this decision. As an OG user/OG VIP supporter double the price in 2026 and then another double in 2027 is a tough pill to swallow. I came onto this forum to see how others were taking this and it all sounds like we are disappointed. $15 to $60 is INSANE. I supported this platform for 13 years because I believe in supporting services that I like and use.
Well I guess you want to get rid of us. It’s been a great 13 years peace out.
Been a VIP for 13 years. Haven’t changed the way I use the service in all that time, just enjoyed the basic reliable tracking. I see no reason to go along with such a brazen price increase.
When we look at alternatives, we should prioritize open source solutions.
