Like others, I did VIP to show support, I really don’t use any VIP features and have not in years, so, lost another OG, just canceled.
I mean, come on, 400% price increase in a year from now.

I’ve heard of Watcharr. Thanks for the reply. I am going to look at all these. Someone said that MDBList is a good place for lists that is on par with the pricing points.
Trakt import was one click for me – already bought the lifetime.

Simkl has referral plan so when invited the inviting member gets 1 year pro for free and the new member gets 50% off. Does anyone want to organize a group for referrals? This way we can flock to Simkl

I’ve been mostly passively paying VIP for almost a decade at this point. The VIP benefits were never really of use to me other than the badge and the profile header image and I’ve barely used the site for like 6/8 years but kept my VIP to help fund it for those who do since I liked the site for what it is. Hell, this is my first forum post ever.
That being said, $30/year was something I could ignore as a semi-passive expenditure even if I don’t really use it. An increase to $35-$40 would have alerted me but ultimately I would have shrugged it off. I understand hosting and dev costs are expensive, but I personally cannot justify $60 a year on the movie marky site I barely use as is. If I’m gonna pay $60+/year for something, it has to be something I actually use regularly and get something out of so I unfortunately this marks my final year of VIP.
I do have to say that the person who gave the ok to just send it and 2X+ the price of membership for everyone instead of the boiling frog approach is confident. I’m certainly not entitled to a lower price but I choose to not pay it. Best of luck guys.

Been paying happily since the “crash” of 22 and will be cancelling today.
You might want to update your churn reduction notice.
If you cancel your VIP, you’ll lose all the VIP features and perks on Dec 19, 2025 5:06 PM including:

had been thinking about canceling my subscription since some of the last changes and so called “upgrades” but they’ve just made the decision so easy. Thanks, Trakt team

Well we saw this coming they kept doing stupid changes and this one was to be expected bye bye i also have cancelled my VIP plan hope they will go down hill hard.

Yup.. same here.. after 7 years saying goodbye. Worth 30 at year, yes, worth 60.. not in any universe.
and canceled.. have VIP until 2026 august (some invite bonus + once happened double billing..) So have a year time to figure out alternatives, or just be happy with free limitation then.
I don’t understand what was your thought with this, but seems by this chain, it is backlashing hard…
and btw. Would have happily paid in June that 30 again..

That is an unjustified increase. It is ridiculously high.
Not all of us have deep pockets and high paying jobs and can just absorb the increase.
Some of us are on limited incomes. Some of us don’t live in the US.
Some of us pay for VIP for just one feature.
I only want one feature out of the entire set. But I’ll be damned if I’m going to pay upwards of CAD$84/yr just for iCal calendar feeds. I do want to support the developer but that, to me, is highway robbery.
I doubt @Justin gives a damn about one person’s opinion. But maybe a few more tiers of service below VIP?
Otherwise I’m out. I’ve cancelled my service. I’ll happily remain as a free member.
Edit (@MetaBunny): $30->$60 is still an unjustified increase, no matter how you spin it.

I cancelled just now as well. In no world 100% increase is justifiable.

This. Did someone forget that grandfathered pricing isn’t just a feel-good thing, but also a form of soft lock-in that encourages people to continue subscribing, even when using a service less or not at all, in order to keep their old price for the future?

From 15$ to 60$, 13 year VIP member. Now looking at which VIP features are worth it for me, alternatives and so on. For 15$ or even 30$ I can see the value but 60$ is well beyond that.
