Upcoming VIP Renewal Pricing Changes

I will be cancelling my subscription. There is not enough value or a new features for double the price. So very sad that they will probably lose so many customers that they could have probably kept with a smaller increase. You have to wonder how much more money will they actually make after losing a lot of customers.

Welp, instead of 30, you’ll get zero. Take care

5 years ago I became a member just to support the service since I thought it is a cool idea. I don’t really use Trakt besides sending the data to the service. So I have no plans to continue being a VIP since the added value is close to 0 for me personally.
I though that Trakt would be earning mostly on selling the data to some ads and analytics services. Smells like they have a new owner that has to recuperate the investment. :joy:

Blatant cash grab and targeted at those that helped make Trakt into what it is today. What new or current features can justify this price hike??!

Yeah, as much as I understand prices eventually gotta go up, doubling out of nowhere isn’t sustainable for me as a customer and absolutely not something I can justify with no benefits to me. Would’ve been happy to continue at $30 or even $40, but ah well.

My thought lately is that they’ve been getting ready to be acquired.

:100: 100% I only became a VIP to support it, I’ve got it tied in to some services but never had any benefit from trakt itself.

Yep, that’s a wrap from me. Will not be paying for this crap $60 a year lol after getting fisted by this company for supporting them early

Well, I guess i will cancel too. 60$ is way too much. I don’t understand the changes they’ve made lately.

welp nice knowing you trakt, what are some good alternatives?

Just cancelled mine too, 7 years of VIP.
$30 was fine to support the site, but not a chance do I get $60 worth of value from it.

Seriously who the fuk thought this would go over well??!? What current VIP user would continue with this BS decision? Holy hell what asinine fukery.

Ugh, I don’t want to support this price increase, as I can’t afford my bills as it is, but I need more than 100 items in my lists. My watchlist has stuff from years back and I can’t lose that. I have over 400 items on my watchlist.

Wouldn’t have complained against a small increase, but I can’t justify paying double the price for this service.

Lmao! Trakt, you have absolutely no way to justify a 100% price increase. Perhaps if there were new features or benefits, but nope. This is the end of the line for me. :victory_hand:

This reeks of the old business wisdom, double your price, and if you lose less than half of your customers, you come out on top.

They must believe that fewer than 50% of users on the old price won’t cancel, either through forgetfulness, apathy, or perhaps genuine use of the service.

Mine doesn’t renew until next year, so I’ll have to see how much value I get out of it between now and then, but 60 bucks is a lot for a service which has never been necessary.

No thanks. Another one bites the dust.

wondering about that too. For shows and for movies. The only real function of vip I used is the rewatch function. Have to look for a new platform that has it like that

Currently looking for some if anyone has any ideas? Preferably with trakt import so I can at least use one useful feature they have..
