Now a user can download their personal information from Netflix (similar to Google’s Takeout) via Netflix. I’d love to have a way to upload the Content Interaction takeout data to Trakt.
The ViewingActivity CSV file in the CONTENT_INTERACTION folder in the downloadable zipped file is what I would to have auto-update my watch history on Trakt. Also, regarding the MyList file, I would love to have a way to upload that list of titles to a list on Trakt so I can keep up with what I have saved on Netflix.
Of course, this would not be something I encourage people to use often (it takes time for Netflix to process the request) but it would be an “easy” way to quickly update all the past Netflix viewing history on Trakt.
You could try out this extension. It has the ability to sync your watched movies and tv shows to trakt and even scrobble them in real time.
To my knowledge it can’t sync your Netflix Watchlist and it also only works in Browsers. So if you were to watch something on your TV you then would have to manually start the sync from your browser.
In my opinion that’s still more convenient than having to request your data from Netflix every couple of weeks.
The extension lists all plays that are not in your Trakt watch history and you can select to add them (with the date and time you watched it on Netflix) so I think the extension is a great user-generated solution to the problem.
