I’ve just noticed that the Android app (might also be the same for iOS) has got a background image that I cannot change. There are no settings on the device related to it in any way. This image does not appear in the web V3, just on mobile.
Detailed description with additional context about the workflow
One of the benefits of having a VIP account is to remove ads, which is what this background image feels like. I know, it’s not intrusive at all, but I can’t stop it showing or change it which makes it feel more and more like a forced ad. I’m not interested in Spiderman Noir in the slightest.
You can change the cover image to anything you like if you go into show/movie/episode summary screen → open more menu (3dots) → Use Set Cover Image option.
But what if I don’t want any cover image…? I can’t see an option for that. It’s either one I explicitly set, or one I don’t want. There isn’t a option for no cover image.
There is no such option for now, some cover image will be visible. We might change that later. You can workaround this and set anything from your favortie show/movie - or just find some random media that has the cover image or black etc. and set it up so it doesn’t bother you.
Thanks. It’s just the inconsistency between web and mobile that bothers me. I can find the ‘Reset Profile Image’ on the web settings Advanced page which obviously clears the cover image (which defaults to ‘none’) and this is a VIP feature, but there is no such option on mobile.
