Hello all, I’m curious to know your thoughts… I have cancelled my Trakt VIP due to the cost being insanely high…and syncing Stremio progress with Trakt is only for VIP accounts… so is there anything that one gains as a non-VIP member? It seems that without the automatic syncing/scrobbling, I’d have no purpose for Trakt specifically as I could be using something like Showly manually as it also has a more intuitive interface.
Or is there a benefit I am not seeing?

A friend of mine uses Trakt fully manually. No scrobbling, he simply marks shows/movies when watched and built his watchlist. He’s quite happy doing this and relies on up next and calendar (although I think it’s a bit of a chore… I’m a scrobbler!)
Hey there! Just to clarify: connecting your Trakt account to Stremio to sync your progress shouldn’t require a VIP subscription. VIP is only needed for automatic tracking features with streaming services (Netflix, Prime Video, etc.) and Plex Sync. Is something different showing up for you?

I’m not a scrobbler, I kind of hate it, doesn’t give me the information I want, exakt time, and service. To me it seems the scrobble just ad Time 02:00 totally useless information. I track everything manually, I really like the new option to put in unknown Time, for item I have no information when watched like from JustWatch where I have only tumb up or tumb down, and also shows I can’t watch now in my country then just put unknown on the recent I just use next on where I’m on , I have also realized that hiding seasons works better. Since I’m more likely to watch series with fewer left than over 100 episodes left
Thanks, but odd… see the photo, I have authenticated Trakt in Stremio, and yet Trakt shows I’m watching E10 of S2 but in fact I’m on Season 7…

I was honestly about to post a similar question.
Not sure how long I’ve been VIP sub, more than 5 years without a doubt, I’m more than happy to do manual check in for my watches.
I’ve loved Trakt scorbbling forever and paid happily to support @justin , In my country it’s now $100 per year, I can afford it without a doubt, I can’t justify it though, so I’ll use the manual approach I suppose.
