The “Watchlist” at Trakt is a list where you should add shows and movies you still haven’t started watching. Once you have watched the movie or the first episode of the show in that list, the item will be automatically removed from it.
How can I add items to my Watchlist?
You can add items from the discover and search sections clicking in the 3 dots icon and then “Watchlist”:
On a show or movie page, just look for this icon:

Your watchlist will be the first item in your Lists section:
To see all items you have in that list, just click in the arrow:
Why should I add what I want to watch to the watchlist?
Adding items to your watchlist will make it easier for you to find them.
The items that have already been released will show up in your home section, in Start Watching:
They will be ordered based on their release date.
You will also find those items in your Upcoming Schedule and Calendar, so you can easily see when unreleased shows and movies will premiere:
How do I know a show or movie is already in my watchlist?
Items in your watchlist will have the watchlist icon filled. You can see the difference below, between an item that is not in your watchlist (left) and and item that it is (right).
On the discover section, the search and any of your lists, just look for the watchlist icon at the bottom of the poster:
What about the items I have already watched? Should I add them to my Watchlist too?
No, once you have watched an item, it will go to your History. There is no need to keep it in your watchlist after you have already watched and there is also no need to add the items you have already watched to that list.
But how do I keep track of my shows then?
Any shows you have started and still haven’t watched the most recent episode will be in your “Continue Watching” section:
What if I don’t want to watch them anymore?
In that case, you can drop them. That will remove those items from your continue watching and your calendar:
If you ever decide you want to continue watching those items, you just need to watch a new episode of them, or add them back to your “Watchlist”. That will automatically undrop the item and it will go back to your “Continue Watching”.
