White Screen Issue When Accessing Trakt.tv Website

Hi Everyone,

Iam experiencing a problem with trakt tv where the website loads as a completely white screen, whenever I try to access my account or watchlist.

This issue started recently, and I have tried clearing my browser cache, switching to a different browser, and even using a different device, but the problem persists.

Has anyone else faced this issue, or does anyone know how to fix it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I am having the same problem with Chrome & Brave Browsers on win11PC, the only way I can access Track.tv is by using DuckDuckGo browser

Iā€™ve had that problem and sometimes still do. I found itā€™s my NordVPN that is doing it. But it doesnā€™t do it all the time.

That would be my first couple of suggestions, turn off any VPNā€™s being used and try different browsers in private modesā€¦then make sure to turn off all browser extensions. Enabling them back one by one to see what is the root cause.

Same.

Commenting so can get notifications if thereā€™s a fix postedā€¦

At the bottom of every thread you can subscribe to it

However, I have found that my VPN doesnā€™t stop the forum from coming up properly, just the Trakt.tv site.

The Forums are hosted by Discourse, while they self-host he website (with Cloudflare in front of it). So itā€™s not that weird dat one could work while the other doesnā€™t.

Iā€™m wondering if Cloudflare (perhaps on request of Trakt) is sometimes blocking access for VPN users

Cloudflare was a really nice service when it first came out. Now itā€™s more of a hassle and I am surprised that Trakt still uses it. There are much better security tools to use.

I am getting tired of getting Cloudflare Verified 10-15 times a day (yes, I use this site almost that often every day): Cloudflare Verified

And let me add, I am not behind any VPN or special firewall that should be causing this.

Same problem, big white screen, just downloaded DuckDuckGo and it worked for me. Thanks a lot.

Does it seem like a VPN was the cause of these white screens? We havenā€™t been able to reproduce this internally.

Definitely seems like itā€™s the VPN for me. Consistently get white screen until I turn it off and I canā€™t say I really feel like turning it off every time I want to access this one website.

i am using nord vpn, this issue was resolved for me by turning of the all the the threat protection options

Yes, I have to turn off my advanced browsing and ad/tracker blocker to visit the Trakt site. I never used to until recently and I donā€™t like leaving it open like that.

Could there be something going on with Cloudflare and VPNā€™s now? Since this seems like such a new issue, and my new issue with getting the ā€œCloudflare Verifiedā€ stuffā€¦Iā€™m wondering if itā€™s something that Cloudflare has done in the background.

Yes, it seems to be VPN related but for me itā€™s when Iā€™m not behind a VPN that Iā€™ve a white screen when I try to access my account on Trakt
Iā€™m from France and when I turn on my VPN (Nord VPN), even from the same country, it works fine
If I turn it off, I got the white screen

using brave browser and nordvpn, turning off nordvpn ad and tracker blocker makes it work again for me

edit, sorry, it seems not to be as simple as that, seems to be turning off advanced browsing protection and ad tracker blocker in nordvpn, you can then turn them both back on and refresh / load site again so must load whatever it needs for the session, once you reopen browser need to disable them again

I donā€™t know anything weā€™ve specifically changed to cause this issue, but Iā€™m wondering if there is something at the Cloudflare level. It might be detecting a threat or something by using the advanced browser protection.

not sure if my issue was the same as other posters but nordVPN do caveat the browser protection and ad blocking services by saying it will sometimes break site functionality.

I was only trialing the service for a few days, the number of cloudflare ā€˜are you a humanā€™ screens i got was noticable
