Maybe I’m just missing it but is there anywhere in your profile or settings that would account for daylight savings time? I guess you can just adjust your time zone one off for the summer but figured I’d check.
i would assume it’s automatic based on the time zone you select in settings from trakt website.
I’m curious what the affects of this is/was. For example, I watch all the Chicago shows (Med, Fire, PD) but the change in time doesn’t change the time these shows are aired. They have episodes during both (Fall, then take a mid season break…then finish the season in the Spring). But no matter what version of time we are in, Med always comes on at 7pm, Fire always comes on at 8pm and PD always comes on at 9pm (I’m in central time zone).
Does the time change affect other locations? Like, does the time change actually shift when shows are aired?
So, when I leave my timezone where it should be (Pacific) it shows up as UTC -8, which is PST and the time the system picks up when I mark something as watched is an hour off. When I adjust the time to UTC -7(which is currently Mountain), then things align correctly. It’s nothing earth-shattering but I know some UIs give you a simple check box that adjusts the time off by an hour for the duration of DST.
I would assume so but I wouldn’t know 100%. Probably would want Trakt staff to confirm.
Ok, I guess that makes sense. For me, a lot of the time I don’t mark show watched until hours or even days later so I have the default set to “release date” when I mark something watched and that also defaults to it’s original release time. I guess I never really cared about being that specific with the data.
There’s definitely something up with the times shown for next up over the past few weeks though.
The Elsbeth show airs at 8pm here, in fact I’m already 45 minutes into watching but it still shows as coming up in the future.
And it shows 2 episodes of Fire Country tomorrow airing at the same time.
I’ve changed the airtime of the second episode of Fire Country that’s airing tomorrow, since it’s not airing in the usual time, the episode needs to be manually edited by a moderator.
As for the other show, the current time listed is 10pm (New York timezone). Internally, we list the airtimes in GMT, and for that episode is 02:00 AM of the next day. If you convert this time I mentioned, does it match the time it should be airing?
I’m trying to figure out if the episode’s airtime is incorrect, or if it is how that data is being converted.
I think what threw the Elsbeth show off is that they ran a repeat episode in the 10pm (9pm Central time where I am) slot as can be seen from my cable tv program guide and ran the new episode at 9PM (8pm Central time) which is usually when Matlock runs (which is running double new episodes tomorrow instead).
Yeah, looking around it seems the press releases for the last 3 episodes of this season say the show airs at 9PM, so I’ve changed the time of those episodes. Thanks!
