Advanced filtering to exclude parameters like streaming services, language, country

I think it would be useful to use the advanced filtering not just to include parameters but also to exclude them (AKA filter out). Some examples:

I use Trakt to find movies and tv shows that I want to collect. However, if media is available on a streaming service that I am already subscribed to, then I have no reason to collect that media in an additional way. I would like to be able to see what’s new that isn’t on Netflix, Hulu, etc., but still display media from all other services without having to select ALL of them.

I like some foreign films, so I don’t want to just filter for English. However, I do not enjoy Bollywood films. I would like to exclude Hindi or India from the view, but still be able to see any other language or country.

I understand this is technically possible by selecting everything except for those couple I want to filter out, but this is tedious.

Thanks for considering it!

You can mostly do this. Next to the advanced field, there is a drop-down to select “none” which will exclude the selected filter. For streaming, it is a bit more advanced by you can edit the URL and prefix - before the service to exclude it.

Perfect! Thank you (I should have dug into the URL string more)

If anyone reads this: In my case, it was easiest to add watchnow=-favorites to the URL string which then filtered out my already subscribed-to services (I had to also add ,-netflix_basic_with_ads due to some Netflix stuff still getting through). The full URL to my request looks like this:

https://trakt.tv/movies/trending/?watchnow=-favorites,-netflix_basic_with_ads&languages=-hi&countries=-in
