In my opinion, the new search bar on the Home tab is a positive change. The logo, burger menu, and Profile button are all well-designed and positioned. Plus, you can’t type directly into the search bar anyways, it will open a new page when you press it.
Regarding the color scheme, I’m not particularly passionate about the choice between purple and red, I like both. However, I do prefer the links to be coloured. I’m not a fan of having the links the same color as everything else but underlined. I don’t believe removing the underline will make a significant difference either.
An alternative approach might be to introduce a toggle option that enables colored links, possibly only for VIP users. This could provide a more visually appealing experience while maintaining consistency with the rest of the app’s design.
If the “red” was added as an option for VIP subscribers on the website, why can’t that be an option for the app as well @Ohifriend ?
I have almost completely stopped using it (I’m on Android) because the purple simply doesn’t work for me and I find the navigation irritating.
Also, making the icon change possible for iOS only sure is one hell of a way to alienate your Android userbase. What kind of silly gatekeeping is this?
You may have missed it but I did clarify the reason for the app not currently having an option to switch.
As I also mentioned above somewhere, the majority of the purple has been removed so I’m honestly not sure which parts you’re referring to that make that much of a difference to stop using the app. If you have any specific spots in the latest version I can clarify - perhaps some spots were missed.
As for the app icon, Android doesn’t make it as easy to adjust the app icon, and iOS was already set up in some capacity to do it. We don’t intend for a lot of people to adjust it - and it appears that a very small amount of people have adjusted therefore it’s otherwise lower priority too. If anything it’d make more sense to allow different versions of the new app icon as that’s the logo moving forward. It was in no way something set up to alienate or gatekeep.
Well I for once am not stopping using the app, I’m still not happy with the coloring though, but you already know that…
But since you asked about remaining purple in the app —> all of this used to be red. So yeah, still lots of purple left.
I understand it’s not top priority but can you give an estimate of when you might get to it? Thx!
I appreciate your feedback but I’ve clarified these above or in the next build.
Track (aka, add to history) Buttons:
Bottom bar:
The “View All Up Next” will be adjusted in the next version, along with removing the underlines for now, but otherwise no other planned changes. That vertical up next is a legacy feature also which is why I didn’t pick up on the ‘View all’ button.
I don’t have any eta on any dynamic changes because it’s not priority and would change almost nothing but the bottom bar at this point.
