I’m not sure if it’s on purpose but there are some things still in red.
The VIP Badge (director badge in this case) and the about me section are still red.
Also the android app hasn’t been updated yet although it was stated in the announcement that the website as well as the apps got a makeover.
(Checked the app store and everything for an update, not sure about the ios app).

Oh, just read that it’s taking some time to get the update approved by Google and Apple. 
I have to agree here. I honestly liked the Red & Black (with different shades of gray for the “Dark Knight” mode) theme better than this Purple color. But I am not the designer.
But I do agree, change everything that was red to purple because red isn’t a good accent color to purple and having both is an eyesore…IMHO.
Yes, my exact thought. Although I personally don’t dislike the purple theme.
