[BUG] Streaming services not refreshing

Hey @justin,

Something is wrong about the Watch Now section, in the sense that it’s not refreshing all items properly.
This is not a new issue (hence why I requested to have a button to refresh JustWatch data manually instead of opening a ticket every time, thank you for that), but I’m wondering how is this supposed to work.

Some titles which have been removed from SkyShowtime in Romania last Sunday are still present among the titles available to stream on this platform (both on the web and in the iOS app). I manually refreshed The Green Mile and Minority Report, there’s others which I haven’t fixed hoping you could have a look maybe (like Good Will Hunting).

I could’ve assumed caching, but it’s been a week already (so something in the algorithm must be faulty). Also, some of the titles which have been removed from the platform on the 13th of November are properly synced with JustWatch, so it looks like the algorithm is working in some cases.

I’m relying pretty much on this feature due to the fact that I have active subscriptions on multiple platforms (Amazon Prime Video, SkyShowtime, Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix), so whenever a title comes into my hands I check if it’s available anywhere and stream it. I would love to be able to rely on this feature on Trakt, so I wouldn’t need to use JustWatch separately.

Thanks for checking it!

Each night, we process any changed data from JustWatch and queue up those updates throughout the day. As long as they send the updated movie/show then we should be automatically processing it.

When you manually refresh, does it always seem to fix it?

Every single time, yes.
There must be something the overnight job misses and the manual trigger fixes.

So based on the example I gave above, both The Green Mile and Minority Report correctly appear on Trakt as not available on SkyShowtime (because I manually refreshed the JustWatch data for them), while Good Will Hunting incorrectly appears on Trakt as available. All 3 movies have been removed from the platform on the 13th of November.
