Bug - watchlist items in my up next?

I’m on iOS how can I install another build? The sorting is also different than the settings in the site. How do we revert it back? I spent ages getting it just right

I’m having to to through and “drop” each unwanted show in my up next, proper rubbish

This is the dumbest and most stupidest move ever! Do you guys keep making moves that doesn’t make sense?

I’m getting pretty upset with all these stupid changes. If things are not broken why freaking change it???

What’s the point of calendar and watchlist then???

Let me guess you’re going to remove watchlist and calendar next and merge all that into up next. So fucking stupid. At least make it a toggle as an option…..

I AM BEYOND FUCKING UPSET WITH THIS CHANGE. My up next is now beyond bloated

The behavior with the Up Next and Calendar showing hidden/dropped shows cannot be intentional. That would completely ruin the experience of the entire app. If you can’t decide to stop watching something and not let it show up for you, then there will be so much garbage and noise in people’s feeds.

Why change things that weren’t broken and everyone was happy with? We don’t want this crap forced upon us which makes the service worse. Are you guys deliberately trying to push users away? Whoever made this decision needs to be fired. Why make a optional setting (which I doubt most people use as it makes no sense) a forced one? You guys need to give each other a good slap and stop with the stupid unnecessary changes.

Even if it is intentional there is definitely a bug with the sort order. None of the settings for the sort order are persisted. Such a big change to a fundamental part of the app need to be handled much better than this.

this didn’t have anything to do with versions or beta or stable……..

I woke up this morning to no new updates and it was like so like it was pushed server side

Yeah, that was my mistake. I thought it only affected the beta versions. The rest of my comment still applies, I don’t really have much other information at this time.

Wait, what is the new Up Next behavior? I’m seeing wacky behavior on my Up Next on iOS (latest stable build) that doesn’t feel like it could be anything BUT a bug.

  • Sorting doesn’t work all anymore on iOS, doesn’t matter which option I choose in the app, it stays the same. And the show at the top of my Up Next is a new episode of a show I haven’t watched in a year and a half, instead of the shows I’m actively watching this week.
  • My Up Next on iOS doesn’t show my watchlisted shows, but it IS suddenly showing all the shows I had previously marked as hidden on Up Next (so it’s… very long). I explicitly hadn’t marked some of these shows as dropped because I may randomly watch an episode here or there but don’t want to see the show there all the time (for example South Park, there are like 300 episodes I haven’t seen and am likely never going to, but I still watch it here and there, I just don’t want to see it in my Up Next all the time).

Maybe my second bullet point is intentional and I just have to deal with that, but the first bullet point very much feels like a bug?

Dropped items shouldn’t be appearing your Up Next, regardless of this change. Can you send me a dm with a few examples of the items that are appearing that shouldn’t be so I can look into it more closely?

Upon further digging, I think the “dropped” shows are properly not showing up. It is all the shows that were marked “hidden” before the “dropped” thing was a feature that are showing. I assume that the “dropped” is a different data set and the old “hidden” stuff is being done away with. Please tell me that you all can use a script on the back end to add the shows that were marked “hidden” to the “dropped” section.

The “hidden” status unfortunately doesn’t apply in the new Up Next. Dropped will still work, so moving items from hidden to dropped should solve the issue. In your account settings under hidden items, you can filter by different options (see screenshot below). Going through these will allow you to drop all of those items so you don’t need to do it manually.

see my comment above ^^ you should see a banner like this:

Who decided to make this horrible decision??? Because as you can see most of the ppl responding here is not pleased with this change. It was fine making it an optional feature but who forcing it on everyone. This is making everyone’s up next so much more bloated and redundant….

Ah, perfect. I was able to do that and everything disappeared like I would want. How does this affect the old ability to hide specific seasons? I am never going to watch the first 30 seasons of Survivor, but currently watch it. Will those early seasons start showing up again? Is there a way to drop only a season?

@Kristin I see big issue here in up next section, it show all my tv shows that I drop LONG LONG TIME AGO.

Please see this comment:

You will likely need to drop anything that you’ve previously hidden.

The change to make “drop” and “hidden” kinda makes sense, but the sort order really needs fixing. Let me know if you need any examples

To reiterate what a couple others mentioned, the “Include Watchlisted” option under the Watched Progress section of the Dashboard settings does not seem to be doing anything. I have it unchecked, but the watchlisted shows (ones I have not started) are showing in my Up Next section. I tried toggling it on and off and it had no effect.

I still think this feature still should go back to optional…. Can’t see why it had to be forced on everyone…

I do see trakt no longer listens to their customers anymore….

So now that all watchlist items show in up next I will just have to remove everything from my watchlist and have a custom “plan to watch” list, making the watchlist feature completely redundant. What a complete and utter dumbass unnecessary change that doesn’t make any sense at all. Bravo trakt, you’ve proved once again you have no clue.
