Custom banner images would be a great addition for profiles.

There are two ways that this could be approached:

  1. Custom user-uploaded images.
  2. Select a different backdrop on TMDb for said film/show.

With respect to the first option, I’d love to have a custom banner image on my profile. It would be a great addition to VIPs.

When it comes to the second option, let me give you an example. I use Jojo Rabbit as my profile banner image and a while back, the film used to have a different banner image. It actually used to be the same image as the one that is used as the main banner image on TMDb. For some reason, it changed at some point. I just did a refresh of the images a couple of minutes ago and it has now reverted back, but that’s not really the point here. I would like to be able to choose a specific image from all the backdrop options on TMDb so that it will always show the backdrop that I wanted it to from there, without it changing to a different one of the backdrop options at some point, or even just because I might prefer one of the other backdrop options.

Back in the Trakt version 1 days, we actually did allow user uploaded content. This was unfortunately abused, even by VIP members, which is why we don’t support it the Trakt currently.

I do like the idea of “locking” the image to your profile when you set it, we should be able to do that.

Great to hear, locking is a good solution to this I think.

I’d love to be able to remove my background image without setting another one. I accidentally set mine and there’s no way that I’ve found to clear it (not that Guardians of the Galaxy is a bad background, though :wink: ).
