Letterboxd does this with posters. I think this would be a great feature (exclusive to VIP?) because often I see posters and backgrounds that aren’t good fits for the shows and TMDB’s voting system enables people to create new accounts and bump up images they’ve uploaded to make it a show’s most “popular”. Take Succession for example. Why is the most popular background on TMDB a random still frame of one of the characters? Because of this, it’s also the background for the show on Trakt, when it should probably be one of ALL of the characters (it’s an ensemble show, after all). But if there was the option for users to edit for personal viewing based on their own preferences rather than be pigeonholed into what is most “popular” on TMDB, this would solve that. Love Trakt and think it’s the best TV tracking service, and this would make it even better.
