I am disgusted. Not only have they locked us out of v2, but they have locked us out of a discussion on the forced switch.
V3 is still sub-par and devoid of important features.
- Clicking titles from continue watching take you to the show page, not the episode
- Season pages are missing.
- Notes are missing
- Guest actors are not separated
- Social features are missing
- Things that used to take one click now takes 2-3 clicks
The list goes on - many have documented the differences - and these are not “VIP Exclusive” features. But our feedback is continuously ignored and dismissed.
Trakt say @kcador says “the new experience now supports the core workflows most free users rely on.” But with these features missing, that is simply not true.
This is the latest in a trend of gaslighting and it’s time for popular resistance to be honest.

Just repeating what others have said, v3 is a disgusting mess. I hate it and most things don’t even work properly.
I stuck around after last years BS regarding lists but if this isn’t changed I am fully done with this site becuase this UI is utterly terrible and unusable.

Since it seems like trakt now only understands corporate speak (and I’ve no wish to come off as rude), I made sure to put my opinion through a translator. So here it is plain polite corpo speak:
The current design iteration presents significant friction points and lacks the necessary maturity for a seamless user experience. Forcing this deployment without adequate validation is highly problematic. You need to pivot back to the ideation and design phase immediately, ensuring that future iterations are rigorously stress-tested by subject matter experts and aligned with comprehensive user feedback before any further rollout.
And in the official announcement post, y’all don’t even allow non-VIPs to comment. Desperate push for subscribers isn’t enough, gotta make sure to limit feedback as well. ‘nuff said.

ive been using trakt.tv for 6-7 years now . This might seem weird but I LOVE watching my tv shows and then adding them to my collection on trakt .In simple words I truly loved trakt and it was a big part of me watching tv shows and movies but this v3 change is causing me distress . Plase change it back.

Just recently started using Trakt on my PC’s web browser. Starting today I’m all of a sudden being forced into a really shitty app-like UI. The tab still says “Trakt Web”. Can’t seem to find a setting to change this, clearing cache/cookies doesn’t work. Is there any way to go back to the web version or am I done using this site already?

Only temporarily, if you pay for VIP. They have not committed to how long V2 will remain available to paying users.

The GitHub milestones point to June 30th as the target date for switching everything over to v3. Given the current situation, one can pretty much count on it not being fully usable by then either.

Yikes, a bunch of shows I had dropped have reappeared in the upcoming episodes row. And there’s no way to drop/hide them from the front page or the calendar page! I could have accepted the new look, but changing the rating system and introducing all these issues is not acceptable!

What on earth is the rationale of forcing people to a far more limited view? i have been using Trakt for probably more than a decade, most of that time as VIP. I had planned to renew my VIP at my next paycheque but I’m not going to now because the design is clearly meant to make using the site unpleasant.
