Revert the change - bring back classic Trakt

Trakt leadership. I beg of you to listen to your userbase. V3 of Trakt is not what we want. It is unfinished, counterintuitive, and horrendously designed.

As you’ve developed this, we’ve told you it’s not ready and does not meet our needs. Your response has been to gaslight us all, ignore what we say, and stifle discussion.

It’s hard to see what your goal has been over the last year other than to just push people away from your services.

I agree, i just logged in and i find the experience bizarre, The UI is awful like a app that was expanded to full screen.

As a 3 year vip subcriber, Trakt has had a major part in my tv/movie discovery experience.

Now with the new version, I am so dissapointed that I’ve decided to cancel my vip subscription.
Im going with an self hosted alternative instead.

At least the option to switch back would be nice I only use trakt because it has a better UI on desktop if I wanted to use a mobile app there’s so many others to choose from.

They do not listen to their loyal fan base. They increased they prices, way above the acceptable level. They aren’t doing a good service to the customer.

Totally agree. The interface is awful and can’t work out how to use half of it! If it’s not changed back I’m cancelling my membership at the end of the term which is a shame as I’ve been VIP for 6 years. Got friends who don’t like it either so won’t be using. There was nothing wrong with the way it was before

Seriously, what is the horrendous new design for the website? I stopped using the iOS beta because the design felt half-baked and was hard to use. This is somehow worse. It’s hard to find things, and I can hardly read any of the text.

I’m a designer, and I never would have allowed a design like this go into production. Following usability and accessibility best practices could’ve prevented the biggest issues. Concept testing early ideas for the resdesign with users also would’ve helped. After issues were identified and fixed, prototypes should’ve been usability tested with users, too. Of course, you have to care about your users and their needs to involve them in your design process…

The thing is they did test the design ideas with users early on. Users have been complaining for months. But like you said, they actually should listen to people. However they ignored all the feedback. I don’t think a single item of feedback resulted in a revision. Not one.

So of course now when it got pushed on everyone the complaints are 100x more because those who didn’t use the Testflight / Beta versions have been forced into this and they can’t find anything.

Concept testing and usability testing should happen way earlier than beta testing, before anything is coded so that it’s easier to make big changes and avoid the sunk cost fallacy of sticking with things that’ve already been coded (even when users are pointing out problems with what you’ve made). Beta testing is more for users to find bugs. Design changes are usually minimal by that point.

Oh my god. What in the name of all sanity is this mess I have seen rolled out today?! It is horrible, dreadful, who has been testing this?! There was NOTHING wrong with the old classic version. It was clean, intuitive, easy to use, and suited what it is designed for.

I HATE THIS NEW “IMPROVED” DESIGN WITH A PASSION!!

started using the old school mobile website again months ago when they made progress into a horizontal scrolling abomination.

When that’s not longer possible it’s goodbye and adios.

I am a 10 year VIP user. The new track web site is far from having the features of classic Trakt. Please revert to the default until it is truly ready. Important features like, hidden items in schedules, advanced searches, being able to rewatch shows and many many more things are not there yet.

I have to add to the general sentiment here, the new website design is a hot mess. No idea who all are responsible for it, but for sanity’s sake, send them all back to the drawing board ASAP, and just let us use the old version. It’s mature, it works, everyone’s used to it. The makeover is like… who even needed it? Why? It’s horrendous in just about every single way. Can’t fathom how it got through several layers of development and greenlit to be released as a final product. It’s insane.

What just happened? I just opened the app and history is broken. The full combined shows/movies view is missing things. And rating things is so unintuitive now. You have to long press to give an odd-numbered rating now. What an unnecessary change.

I paid for Traks because I want my private notes and my collections. That is the only reason that i use it instead of other apps. This is unacceptable and I want the old version back please. And….logged out of the app to see if it would load my apps and cant log back in at all and also can’t login to the web version of the app. Just flashes and does nothing on both.. Awful, awful, awful
