How does streaming sync logic work?

Short description of the issue

  • How does the sync logic work for matching streaming content to Trakt

Detailed description with additional context about the workflow

  • I have just started watching Star Trek The Next Genration, unfortunately there is a discrepancy between Paramount and how Trakt/TMDB have the episodes (Understand Trakt is using originally aired)

  • On Paramount S1E1 is Encounter on Endpoint (Part 1) and S1E2 is Encounter on Endpont (Part 2), Where Trakt has both these episodes as a combined S1E1, so all episodes are 1 episode out

  • What should be the outcome of the scrobbling sync be for these, should it match by S/E and mark the wrong one matched, or does it match by title also, meaning nothing scrobbles

  • Just trying to see if i need to manually mark these episodes as watched, or if i should be getting some type of sync
