Hi everyone,
I’ve been a Trakt VIP member for a while now and it’s been essential for my media tracking. However, I’ve encountered some specific issues on Android TV (especially regarding local services in Turkey) and have a few suggestions for the new web interface.
1. Android TV Deep-linking Issues (Turkey)
I’m having trouble launching local and global streaming apps directly from the Trakt Android TV app:
-
Turkcell TV+: Even though the app is installed, Trakt fails to recognize it and cannot open the content link.
-
HBO Max: Although Trakt correctly identifies the content on HBO Max, it fails to trigger the app launch on the device.
-
Streaming Priority: For HBO Max exclusives (like IT: Welcome to Derry), the UI often prioritizes local providers (TV+) instead of the original platform. It would be great to have a priority setting or have it automatically favor “Originals.”
2. Feature Request: Stremio Integration
When a movie or show isn’t available on any of my active streaming services, it would be amazing to have an “Open in Stremio” button. I believe many power users who use Trakt also rely on Stremio for library management.
3. Web UI: External Ratings (IMDb/Rotten Tomatoes)
On the new web interface (Beta), it’s currently hard to see IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes scores.
-
It would be very helpful to see these ratings directly on thumbnails while browsing.
-
Currently, even on the detail page, I often only see the TMDB score. Since we have the VIP metadata, seeing all scores at a glance is quite important.
Is anyone else experiencing these deep-linking issues on Android TV, or has anyone found a workaround for local streaming providers?
Thanks for the great work, Trakt team!
