Month in Review!

Your Month in Review is here!

We took one of the best features of Trakt (year in review) and adapted it for a monthly snapshot of what you’ve watched in each month.

What does my month in review look like?

https://trakt.tv/users/me/mir

Will I be notified when I have a new month in review?

Yes, we’ll email you on the 1st of every month with your top level stats and a link to view the full month in review. We’ll eventually send a mobile push notification as well. Your notifications can be managed in the settings.

You can also access your month in review on the Trakt website from your dashboard, user profile, or user menu in the top right. The mobile apps have a card on your home tab.

What stats are included?

We include your monthly totals, first play, most watched shows, most watched movies, and last play. There is also a breakdown of the streaming services that contain the most items you watched. This is super helpful to know which services you might want to subscribe to and to prune those you’re not using.

Can I view past months?

You betcha! Just like year in review, you can navigate to previous months and see all your stats. You can even view the current month in real time.

Where is the month in review available?

The month in review is available on the website, iOS, and Android apps now!

How can I share this?

Just share the link and most social apps will automatically pick up your dynamically generated image, complete with your personalized stats. For an even cleaner experience, use the Trakt mobile app and share directly to your socials.

Just seen my January monthly review and one thing I noticed is that the date for hours watched (both TV and Movie) cannot be seen, unless you look very closely, as it is too dark.

Can I suggest making this purple or another colour to make it more readable.

Fix going up now to make the labels a lighter color.

Thank you.

This is a simple thing…but when I use the navigation to go back to December, the “december” title gets cut off on mobile devices. Might want to modify the CSS for the smaller screens to decrease the font for that.

This may be tangential to “month in review” but shows that I watched with Hulu are also being tagged under Spectrum and Fubo so basically being triple-categorized. I don’t use Spectrum or Fubo.

Can’t dismiss the month review on Android’s app homescreen, clicking on the X does nothing

Interesting that I’m now receiving Month in Review emails from Trakt but never received any emails concerning the new limits and VIP cost increase :unamused:

Is it possible to have a share image to Instagram as a story or is it out of place for something like trakt?

If you attempt to share from the iOS or Android apps, after tapping on the card on the home tab of the app, tap share on the Month In Review webpage and it should give you an option to share to Instagram Stories if it’s installed, or image via the share sheet and then via instagram, etc.

If you already dismissed the card (I’ll get an iOS app update to offer access to Month and Year in Review from the settings hopefully next week, and it’s already there in Android 1.9.1) and don’t want to delete and reinstall the app to get the card back, the workaround for now is to use the direct link to the image: https://widgets.trakt.tv/users/ohifriend/mir.jpg?year=2025&month=1&shape=story

Replace ohifriend with your username. Long press and save the image etc

This should be fixed as of Android 1.9.1 (151)

I really like this new feature and plan on checking on it regularly.

Only issue I see is the streaming service tracker, but it’s a minor issue to me. The tracker includes streaming services that I do not even have/use. Maybe it could only track streaming services we have favorited instead.

Thank you for all that you do. :two_hearts:

Same. Says my #1 streaming service is Spectrum but I don’t even use it

I have the same “issue” but in reality this isn’t a bug. It just so happens that their (Trakt) algorithm that calculates that uses everything in the Watch Now list. For instance, I watch all the FBI shows, so it lists 6 different streaming options. But for the new show called The Pitt, it’s an exclusive only streaming on Max. Unfortunately Trakt doesn’t have the option to actually select what service we used to watch something…so they obviously can’t calculate to that level of specificity.

I guess a solution that could be possible is for those that “scrobble”…I don’t…but say you are watching something on Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Hulu, Apple TV+, or Max…maybe Trakt can program something to record that data in their database.

I wonder if removing Spectrum and Fubo from the favorites list under the watch now section of the Settings. I kinda like knowing ALL my options because of this site I have learned of some streaming services that I had not heard of before. So I have them all selected…LOL

Or maybe we could select what services we use (or want Trakt to log) and they tag our shows accordingly.

Yeah, that’s definitely an option if they want to program for that. It shouldn’t be hard (I’m a web developer too) to add that feature. It just means one more step for us to do though…a lot of the time I use my dashboard to “quickly” mark episodes as watched. I wonder how best to add that into the flow of things.

I mean, we should mark that once in our profile and hope our logging detects that
