Pagination on season page

Hello
Since Detective Conan migrated to TMDB, season 1 has over 1000 episodes (and many other anime have this “problem”). Would it be possible to have a pagination system to make navigation more pleasant.

thanks

Good idea, but not a quick fix. The seasons pages have sorting and filtering that is all done client side. Switching to a paginated view will require re-doing that functionality. I don’t have an ETA on when we will get to that.

In the meantime there is many episode groups that you can use…

So this is one of the instances of TMDB being more correct than others. Japan does not subdivide series by season. They either run for a (calendar) season or two, and end. And if they make more episodes, they are considered part of a whole other series. Or they run forever without any planned breaks (like Detective Conan & One Piece have for the last couple of decades).

But I agree with this complaint, though maybe for a different reason. Trakt is a very visually-heavy site and it tries its darndest to load the HTML and imagery for all 1000+ episodes into memory just because it can. This is a problem if I want to do anything else at all with my computer while this is happening.

I was considering asking if season lists can’t just automatically break into pages every 25-50 episodes, since almost every show won’t count a single “season” that high. So that when they do (whether it’s something with a weird release schedule or a Japanese show that is disregarding seasons), it will be much easier to manage. Be it visually, or for the sake of our system resources.

Yes, I have no problem with TMDB cutting (given that there is no real season for these animes) but more about the fact that the page is super heavy and hard to load unfortunately…
