Plex scrobble duplicating now

The Plex Scrobbler has now started to duplicate all watches that are synced with Plex including ones that had already been watched.

Hi,

I was impacted with the issue yesterday ( Plex Scrobbler not resolvable ) but I’m not having this duplicate scrobbles one.

@Mayatock Do you see the calls to the webhook duplicated in the Plex console?

Hi,
Can you go to your Plex Sync page and check if you have the 2 boxes marked in this section:

You should only have one of them, otherwise, it will duplicate your plays. You can choose the one you like the most.
The first one is for the webhook and it will get your data immediately, but if it fails for any reason, it won’t try again. The second one is for Plex sync, with that option the episodes/movies won’t show up in your history immediately after you finish them, but it will try to get them again if it fails once the sync happens.

I am experiencing the same issue. I initially had everything checked, then moved everything to sync, then to scrobbler, then unchecked everything except “Start watching” and even then, entire seasons of shows are being marked as watched with the same time stamp which correspond with watching a single episode of a show. I was under the assumption that “Start watching” was the option to show what you were currently watching on your profile but that continues to work even with all sync options unchecked.

The system is broken and needs review. It’s not just the Beta sync (as I have disconnected my Plex account from Trakt and the issue remains) but something else.

Edit: Even with jut the scrobbler connected, all my recent shows are being marked as watched. I watch one episode or even part of an episode and an entire series is marked as watched at the same time. I have removed the webhook from Plex for now. I should also note that I have a similar scrobbler connected to mdblist.com and it is not behaving this way.

After disconnecting the sync and scrobbler, my recent history is flagging all episodes as watched. Additionally, Trakt knows when I am watching something even with no scrobbler and no Plex Sync connected. How is that possible? What are the next steps here?
