No syncs (hourly or manual) since 10SEP.
I know there were a few updates and outside variables around that time and as such updated PW, 2FA, re-connected, etc a few days ago and still nothing.
No errors, no emails, no syncs.

I’ve just uploaded Season 1 of Black Rabbit to my Plex server, Trakt seems to have imported every show and marked them all as collected. Which is new, as previously only 1 or 2 episodes shown up after adding multiple episodes at once.
I get you though, there are many days where i have to manually sync.
I am currently using port 20975 for my remote access to Plex (determined by the seedbox I am using).
Please can manual port selection, or this port be allowed as I’m not able to see the User dropdown for my server?
Currently using PlexTraktSync on Docker and the We hook, but would prefer to use Trakt Plex Sync itself as I’m keen on using the Stream on Plex integration for the new Android TV app.
I’ve been having this same problem for the last several days. Was working fine (well beta fine) for months and suddenly not syncing since Sept 7th. Disconnected and resigned in and having the same messages.
Also, having over the server didn’t show anything but I’ve been on the standard port for years, so it’s not that.
Hi, Snappy
For PLEX, port 32400 is the prefered default you should be using.
For PlexSync with Trakt, you can use ports, 32400 or 32401, I think Justin also opened port 8443 and maybe a couple others I can’t remember. Use port 32400 if possible.
With a seedbox in most cases one has no control over the port unless it’s dedicated. The vast majority are co-hosted or shared. The internal port will be set to 32400 but one has zero control over being able to set the external one. It simply cannot be changed.
I have one of my servers in this situation too. However Plex Sync should still be able to access it through port 8443 which will be seen. It just takes forever for it to all connect and with lots of refreshes. This port issue has been something why I’ve been asking from day to allow us to set our own ports somewhere in configuration.
Honestly, I don’t have any experience with Seedbox, and I’m a bit confused about how it works. From what I understand, isn’t it basically a peer-to-peer client that downloads torrents to a remote server, and then you transfer those files to your local device afterward? Or do people usually just keep everything stored on the remote server?
I’ve used BitComet for near 20 years.
Maybe I’m missing something, but I’d be pretty nervous about relying on a remote server to hold my collection, what if something unexpected happened and you lost it all?![]()
I’m just adding to the confirmation that it had stopped scanning for me as well (last scan was back on the 16th) for me it stopped scanning on the 17th which after a full day of it not scanning I went back and re-enabled plextraktsync again for my library stuff till this is sorted out again. Makes me wonder if however the plex sync is ran crashed or something while Justin has been away for the week xD
I believe some of the issues with it stopping scanning are caused by us users running manual scans.
I’d had no problems with Plex Sync updating newly added items to my Plex Watch List but no series or movies were ever imported.
I disconnected and then reauthorized Trakt again and since doing so and not running a manual sync at all it ran fine. To test my theory I ran a manual sync after adding something new and nothing new got added after that. Went through the same procedure again and left it all alone and it has so far kept going. So it seems to me that a manual sync is maybe interrupting something?
Edited to add (9-20-25 16:39): Spoke too soon. New additions aren’t being scanned at all. I’ve gone back to the webhook for library additions and will just keep Plex Sync activated for watch list and ratings for the time being as that’s all that seems to consistently work for me.
Whenever I watch something, it’s duplicated in my watch history. Same exact date and time stamp. I have to manually delete everything I watch. What is causing this, how can I fix this? It happens immediately too, so is the scrobbler doing it twice?
Hi, do you have your settings set so only one service (PlexSync or Webhook) are syncing for “watched” plays? There are 2 different options there and having both activated will cause duplicates.
You’re right, I do. I imagine scrobbler would be more instant, so go with that?
The webhook is instant, but if it fails, it won’t try again. Plex Sync has a delay, but retries on the next sync if it fails. You can choose the one you prefer.
Are you from the future lol? It’s currently only the 21st so idk how you got to be on the 28th xD
anyways I reset up the plex sync and haven’t touched doing a manual scan at all and so far everything seems to be back to normal and that its scanning again, so I do have a feeling there might be a small issue with initiating a manual scan breaking things as well.
Typo fixed. Happy?
Lol I was just messing with you since you ended up making a mistake in the date, you didn’t have to go change it any >.<
I’m starting to debug some of the reported issues. Last week, there were some issues with super slow Plex syncs, and that was backing up the queuing system. So that is why some syncs weren’t occurring properly.
It seems the sync process is super slow for some users due to either slow connection to the Plex server or perhaps some rate limiting at the Plex level. I am still looking into this.
First sync since 10SEP went through this morning.
I triggered a manual one yesterday evening but considering this is showing a timestamp of 0638 23SEP I’m going to assume it was an automated one.
Pointed it at another library and going to let it sit for ~48 hours and see what happens.
Automated Sync confirmed;
I’m really excited to use the Plex sync feature, and I had it set to only sync new Watches. But I’ve watched several episodes over the last few days (since I connected plex) but none of them show up in my watch history. Is anyone else having this issue. I have my plex TV library with the correct agent selected, as well as watched status nothing. several newly added episodes have synced to the trakt library, but watch doesn’t seem to sync. Any tips?
