Question about the 100 items limit

IMO it doesn’t help that episodes are counted. In my 17k+, 11.2k are episodes

Why not just count the TV show…??? Actually I get that from a collection perspective as you might not have all the episodes but in a watchlist is utterly silly, given that once you start to watch that show, it’s tracked in progress, etc instead.

Edit: so despite the advanced settings saying collection items are shows + movies, the system is still including episodes…

I’m surpised by these large numers; you guys must be very rich… Who can buy so much content?

I thought “Collection items” is for tracking content you purchased? How do you use it?

Not true. Episode count was a bug when rolled out. Should count only shows and movies

1 show = 1 item.
a 100-episode, 10-season show = 1 item.

for the limit, not for the stats you see in collected if you show episodes.

No, this would count as 1 show in your collection when calculating your limit. Your collection page has a total count of episodes + movies, but the limit is calculated using shows + movies.

So you own 5.8 thousand movies and TV shows?

I said watchlist not collection…

both the watchlist and collection only count shows and movies as one item. so adding the simpsons in your example would be one, not 781, as far as tracking for limits.

Seriously, what use is there for a 17k watchlist?

17k collection! not watchlist!

I think you are right but this is not what it states on the advance settings per the screenshot I provided above.

as justin said it will show you your total number of items in your collection. your watchlist will mirror this unless you are literally adding individual episodes to your watchlist. i could only see that happening when using third party apps or software that aren’t adding the items correctly. again if you add the simpsons to your watchlist it counts as one item unless you go through and add each episode individually

justin replied regarding collection, not watchlist. To quote: “No, this would count as 1 show in your collection when calculating your limit. Your collection page…”

Watchlist and collection are two separate things…

i made an edit but it still stands, one show is one item on your watchlist

The watchlist means only the list of shows you want to watch(not the shows you are already watching), so if you add only the shows there(not the episodes or seasons), it will count as 1 item. Like yours, for example, only has 82 itens right now.

Indeed it helps to keep a complete collection of every TV show I have, but at a very steep price.
