Stop limiting the collection-list for Free users

The Collection-option is now limited to a 100-items, My collection exists of over 10 times that amount.

Stop complaining at start paying. Complain when paying.

And why shall I pay for others. One is good enough

Why even bother setting a limit to 100? Literally the only thing I used Trakt for is to sync and review movies/shows with my Plex server. It makes sense to pay for VIP if you’re a power user that takes advantage of all the features. If there was a one-time fee for the webhook option, that would be reasonable. Hopefully Trakt management removes the 100 limit for free users.

Sir do you happen to have a phobia of free users? Wanna talk about it?

You can still use Trakt + Plex for scrobbling + ratings, just not the collection if it’s over 100 items :woman_shrugging:

But the Plex Webhook needs Plex Pass + Trakt VIP, so… yeah.

Why do you need the limit to be over 100 for this?

I don’t think lists have anything to do with this. The webhook and scrobbling are separate VIP features.

@Clanhold_Cinema

Why don’t you pay 6 times so you won’t have to hear complaints from others?

Utterly pathetic response.

Fun fact is he is a VIP but doesn’t even pay the full $60 bucks lol

What I would love is to be able to pay (a nominal fee) for the features I want to use, having a large collection limit (items added with API calls) and tracking watch history (which I update manually) is all i am interested in.

But it seems more and more companies are hell bent on bundling every quirky little unwanted feature/capability into the one and only subscription offered, because “look at the value it offers”. Despite the fact the value for many users is terrible, because they don’t want/need 90% of the bundled functionality!

You can do this for free. Nothing changed regarding this so paying a fee for it would be really bad.

Sorry I probably wasn’t clear, I’m not advocating to begin charging for watched history tracking, I was just trying to list the functions I would like to make use of (and did use with my “free” account until the changes). Specifically collections > 100 items now being pay-walled behind a full VIP subscription.

My ability to track my collection has been restricted by the recent limits imposed, I appreciate Trackt is a business and needs to finance its existence/future and would be interested in paying a nominal subscription to enable me to continue to use the service I have used for the last 12+ years. However as noted in my previous post, I do not use or have any interest in 90% of the rest of the VIP “perks” so find it difficult to justify paying the recently doubled VIP subscription.

Hope that clarifies

Yeah, before it didn’t have the 100 limit, I was able to use a script to scrobble for free. Now I would have to purchase a Plex Pass AND pay a subscription for VIP. Seems a bit of a waste for 1 webhook.

Didnt know you could scrobble without plex pass. I always had that extension from the unsupported extension store but it just stopped working :woman_shrugging:

But ive since then moved on from plex hahaha.

Ive used this site since its inception and charging an exhorbitant fee I cant afford because someone has gotten greedy has me looking into alternatives and it saddens me because I do enjoy being able to track my collection but I no longer have that option so I’m done with Trakt as soon as I find an alternative that works for me.

Same here, I cannot afford the 60bucks a month just to keep track of a collection. I am willing to pay, for that what I am actually using. All the VIP features I do not need, only lists and collection, nothing else.
Also looking for alternatives, and found something that works very well, but does not support (yet) collections, its called SIMKL.

It isn’t 60 bucks a month, it is 60 bucks per year.

This doesn’t seem to help, so i decided to stop paying

So you artificially decrease the usage of list to push VIP on ppl that use it at a program guide…

Congratulations you lost me… as a potential customer (i was thinking about VIP but 6$ for lists and filters is - egregious!!!) and user

Why even bother? No point in still using it as a free user OR a paid user. I had 2k watchlist items. I cannot export/transfer to an alternative. That was the cruel move. I would have paid for VIP IF there was some type of warning and this didnt turn into a data hostage situation with my watchlists. Traktv is very poorly run and kinda jerks for the way this was handled and the web interface is buggy and how many years old is the service? This has forced me off Kodi + Seren and I am without my watchlists. Happily using Stremio now, the new contender displacing Kodi. They essentially are killing their support and pushing most users away. Things will go downhill from here. Its like when a new owner buys a company and guts the service and turns it into complete crap and wonder why people leae in droves.

In case you’re not aware, there’s now an export button within Settings->Data.

Of all the recent changes to Trakt, it’s the one addition that I’m truly thankful for.
