Question regarding data refresh

Hi there,

So using data refresh when updating data on Tmdb (for example adding new upcoming episodes and images etc…) works fine, and usually once Tmdb is in sync, Trakt updates within a few minutes when hitting the data refresh button, however does this function work when modifying an air date for a series where an episode has already aired?

As an example it is not uncommon for episodes to be delayed by a week or two for Korean shows, when they have some sort of sporting event or festival where the broadcast takes priority over what was scheduled to air at that time, on most occasions I don’t realise this untill after the original air time (episode has already popped up in my up next), So when modifiying Tmdb with the new airdate and using the data refresh option, it doesn’t seem to update and the episode still remains in my up next (even after Tmdb has synced with the modified airdate)

I usually need to “report season” and get one of the Trakt staff to do it before it actually updates. Is this normal?

Thanks.

it can take a bit before data is updated in the tmdb API, when that’s updated, Trakt can fetch new data. I’d try again in a few hours if I were you (like 2 to max. 8 hours)

TMDB’s data takes a while to import here, some data might import immediately, but some, can take up to 8 hours to show up when refreshing.
Also, if the episode is still in your up next and the date has already updated with a refresh in the show’s page, that means your up next is using cached data. It takes a while for the updates to show up in every part of the website.
When you report these items, the page updates because when I take a look into it and update, it has been enough time for TMDB’s updates to import.

Ahh that makes sense, that explains the extended delay in updating once already in my up next…cheers!!
