Is there a way to filter out these new platform releases of old shows and seasons? They keep showing up in my “season premiere” notifications. For example, Step Trek Strange new worlds is S01 is now on Apple TV and Trakt is telling me this is a premiere.
Please post some screenshots where you are seeing this.
I get something similar when sorting lists by release date and something from like 2012 is up with 2021 items because it was “released” to Disney+ or HBO Max or something. It should just keep the original release date not the date it was added to a streaming service.

This email notification is specifically for Watch now availability. It must have been added to Apple TV recently?
That’s a separate issue with the release dates. Looks like someone added the digital release to TMDB which is why it changed on Trakt. I’ll have to take a look and see if we can adjust the logic for picking the release date. We prefer theatrical and then digital releases. I’ll need to check if we can safely use the physical date too.
So, this isn’t getting fixed I guess? Shame to turn off notifications which will not remind me to use Trakt as much.
I don’t think it’s really a bug in the original example. It was added to Apple TV and since that is one of your favorites it sent an alert.
I think a good update might be a setting to ignore items already watched from ever displaying in the watch now notification emails.
That would be a great setting, also, maybe consider consolidating the various platform “premieres” into a single email.
Some help text on the notification page would help too, tell us exactly what each notification is and what triggers it.
