I have the “Watch & Collect Buttons” setting under Global set to “Add with today’s date (long press for a specific date)”. This works wonderfully both on the web and in the app, except for shows I’m rewatching.
On the website (from the progress page) it goes “Remove from history” → “Add additional play” → “Just finished”. In the android app it’s straight to a “When did you watch this?” popup. In both cases, all I want to do in that context is instantly log a play. I understand needing to balance that with the ability to delete previous watches, but the current experience just feels like it’s a forgotten detail, which I assume it is.
Maybe play deletion for rewatched shows can be relegated to only when I’m on the episode page or history page? For me personally, the desired behavior for rewatches is almost exactly like that for watching a show for the first time, except I happen to have seen some episodes before.
This isn’t super simple, but might be possible. It would likely be a new setting to not change the behavior for everyone. I will add it to my task list and think about it more.
Came to the forum today to ask for this same thing. I’d like to be able to mark an episode as rewatched with just one click, like when I watch it for the first time.
I would expect the “watched” checkmarks to all disappear when you start a rewatch, or maybe just show as faded or something. Then you should be able to just click the check again to add the rewatch.
Was looking for the same thing. I haven’t used the rewatching functionality until now for some reason and I find that it’s not so user-friendly to add a new play.
As mentioned above, the previous plays should be hidden, or at least it should be easier to just bump a new play.
