See only first upcoming episode

I’d like to be able to see only the next episode being broadcast for each of the series I track instead of all upcoming episodes. This would make it easier to see release dates of programs that have been announced months in the future without scrolling through pages of the all upcoming episodes for all the series I track.

Any way to do this currently?

Check out your progress page (filter out completed) and up next to watch.

Be sure to deselect include watchlisted in settings if you don’t want those shown and only want series you are actively watching there.

You could also sort by release date.

I think I could have been clearer in describing what I was looking for. I don’t want to see all upcoming episodes of a tracked series. Say series Z has S01E03 on Sunday and 04 next Sunday. I only want to see episode 03 in my list and not Ep.04. The same for all series I track. Effectively it would show only the next episode coming down the pipe but not subsequent ones.

You can choose whether to include future episodes or not in progress. I think by default it’s ticked off. So I don’t know what issue you’re having. What are you using now thats showing future episodes?
Have any screenshots or links?

And up next to watch on the dashboard doesn’t show unreleased episodes anyway.

Or do you want future episodes but only one? Then you should still be checking out your progress page future episodes enabled. Because by definition you see only one episode on the right. Depending on your settings the next one will auto appear after you marked the current as watched though.

Haven’t we dealt with this before? This seems very familiar.

I guess I’m not a typical user. I only look at calendar. I don’t need to be told what I should be watching. I erroneously assumed others would be doing the same as I do. I use trakt to inform me of upcoming episodes of series that I have added. It’s the calendar list I’d like to restrict to showing only the next episode and not subsequent ones.

Maybe a new thing similar to calendar would be needed.

Sorry for all the confusion.

This is what my Calendar looks like for today (Friday, January 10th). Is the page/view you are talking about?

Then you should just look at the upcoming schedule. It shows 7 days depending on your setting of when the week showen should start.
I have it set up like from like 2 or 3 days ago. Of course it doesn’t care if you missed an episode. It’ll just show the episodes releasing that week.

There’s no calender view with just one episode for each show :see_no_evil: but as mentioned there’s other pages to use :woman_shrugging:

Yes. I find it useful to see that, for example, Bosch Legacy season 3 has been scheduled to start in April (fire permitting) without needing to see all 10 episode release dates of some other series. In this use case, only the next episode of the series I track is useful to me.

In these cases, those particular shows release ALL episodes on the very same day/date, so technically, this is correct. There’s no way to filter out extra episodes if they did indeed release on that very same day/date.

So in my example, they release the second half (season 3 episodes 5-10) all at the same time, so there’s no way to ONLY show that s3e5 was released.

Does Amazon release several Bosch: Legacy episodes on the same day?

Another example is MAX (formerly HBO Max) release an exclusive/original called The Pitt and my calendar showed the TWO shows released.

I think Amazon releases BL a couple of episodes initially then 1 or two weekly after that.

Anyway, it looks like trakt doesn’t have the capability I’m looking for. Hobi, an Android app that used trakt data had this, but it is no longer available. I found it quite useful and was trying to see if I could do the same in trakt.

How about release dates for upcoming series, or the next season of a current show? Can that be achieved in trakt?

That shows upcoming shows. You can do the same for movies.

https://trakt.tv/calendars/my/premieres/

That shows you your calendar so you can use the left sidebar to filter to just about anything, then just keep paging to the next set of dates.

I have a feeling you don’t know very much about how this site works. My advice, is start on the main website. Just start clicking around and using the functionality that is already provided. It seems like you are asking for something (instantly) instead of learning it all for yourself.

Take some time one day and just click all over the place, Dashboard/Shows/Movies/Calendar/Discover to start with. Use the left sidebar to play around with all the filters. Trust us, a lot of what you are requesting is there, you just need to find it and use it properly.

That’s what I was looking for, thanks. I’ll need to weed out the empty days, amd maybe see multiple months simultaneously, but that will probably be easy when I play around a bit.
